your son reminds me of my 4 year old...wow. I am about 3 hours from seeing a speech pathologist. I am nervous to hear he's got to be seen further...I am hoping they will tell me that he's fine and give me some suggestions to encourage his speech. I keep blaming myself for his speech delay. I placed my son in my mother's care from the time he was 1 to 4(when he started JK), and she never took him out to interact with other kids. I've read to him millions of times and now this...disappointing
@TheNubian1985 I hope your appointments went well. His speech has improved tremendously. He's actually really great at speaking and having a conversation now. He's been going to speech, as well as other interventions/RSP programs since grade K and now he's n 2nd grade and doing amazing well. Don't blame yourself at all and reading to our kids is one of the best things we can do.
Thank you for your comment. He was actually diagnosed as being "on the spectrum" with mild to moderate autistic like behavior.
Since starting tp speech has improved in amazing ways. The school (with new testing done through the state) went from saying he couldn't learn learn like other children to now he is very capable. His problem is lack of impulse control and attention issues.
With research after new findings don't think it's autism but ADHD So now we're working on behavior therapy.

Thank you for sharing. You can see his soft heart and his want to "please." Our autistic children live in a different place...very misunderstood.
