  • once long ago, i didn't know what good music was, and then it was CO

  • never heard about this band before. New?

  • @dryghelvete Cain's Offering is a Finnish power metal group that formed in 2009.

  • crap audio quality :/

  • @lecisko crap comment quality

  • dude.I fuking love this song

  • It would be so great to hear Sonata singing this, with their epic voice :)

  • @markoalhr

Yeah, I totally agree! Woulda been awesome!!

  • this song gives me hope that one day i wont need her still

  • This song is so fucking epic i got it on repeat its my new favorite song.

  • aww this could have become such a good band but I havent heard anything for a long while :(

  • @ArkoMusicK it was a side project..

  • First time i'm listenning to this band, and i fell in love with the lyrics!

  • This band was suppose to be "Sonatavarius" or "Stratonata". But they realized how ridiculous it would be. Really.

  • masterpiece

  • Thanks to so-called Ironhoof for giving a little advice for this awsome combo!!

  • Wow, the beginning of this song is amazing!

  • great song. great band

    nuff said =)

  • Bravissimi! Specialmente Jani!

  • Okei... It's a nice song, but he can't sing those high notes... >_>

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOO Their website is down now for a few months.. Does that mean that they have stopped??? o.O

  • @jsnl92 I don't know. I don't even know anyone who does know. If anyone knows, please let us know.

  • the best supergroup ever!

  • THIS IS JUST TO GOOD...

  • Amazing! Don't know really what to say. I always felt Timo's voice wasn't completely, how do you say, 'used' in Stratovarius. Still here I have the feeling he can do better, put way more energy in the song.

  • Janiii! Go back to Sonata Arctica!!!! Pleeaaas!!! *cry*

  • @Duniskoop no lol, let him do his stuff right here in his new band

  • Comment removed

  • Jani as guitarist + timo's voice just awesome

    great band and great album

  • offrendo il caino!

  • @LightHunterLuigi

    l'offerta di caino.......'gnurant :) :D

    sto skerzando naturalmente..

  • amazing

  • Timo's voice is awesome!

  • THE ALL CD IS AMAZING....FONT MISS IT PEOPLE....ITS BETTER THAN THE SONATA ARCTICA AND STRATOVARIUS...LASTS ONES....

    5 OUT OF 5!!

  • ΓΑΜΑΕΙ!!!!

  • So beautiful! :D

  • amazing!!

  • T.T Janiiii

  • Fucking Amazing ^^

  • fucking amazing ^^

  • One of the few songs I've heard Jani with out an awesome guitar fill solo. ( until the end... which the song doesn't need in any way) He did really good. And Timo did an awesome job also.

  • This whole album is amazing.

  • um... I think hunt = heart and lift = left

  • incredible voice.

  • I really like this song. Timo is the best!!!! I think he is the best singer!!!! Timo for ever! :D Ok, Jani is great, but I love Timo's voice! :)

  • I love Sonata but I accept that jani has a new band, I support him, jani composed all the music for this one and that's respectable.

    Viva Jani!!!

  • It's ok I guess, but for me pretty much every single Sonata Arctica song with Jani is better than this one... :]

  • This is a beautiful song.. Bow down to Jani and Timo.. The entire album is really great and this is the masterpiece..

  • For an album consisting of pretty much all bitter or sappy breakup songs, this is pretty good. I like Timo in Stratovarius and Jani in Sonata better though.

  • u got the lyics in where it should say : I traveled so far defying the dawn

just to see where this road leads

    my foolish heart,..........etc etc

  • I think that tony is better....but the question for me is another one...why there isn't a real solo? the one at the end is been cutted :( whyyyyy????

  • What teh hell are you talking about??there is a solo (2:58-3:16) and what the hell is a "real" solo??????

  • @TimothyScandella For real solo I mean the one that Jani does in sonata, fast but cool at the same time, the solo that make me say wow this is one of the greatest guitarist I ever heard in my life. by the way this are personal taste, so peace!

  • Yes,it's personal taste, and Jani is my personal biggest inspiration, and i really think that this solo is very good, solos don't always have to be fast, and that's exactly what I like about Jani,he can create solos with a great sensibility and in the right contest, also letter to dana, tallulah,my misery, shy, and the other quiet Sonata songs don't contain hyper fast solos...

  • @TimothyScandella Thats it man. GO JANI!!!!!

  • This song is so good!

It gave me a good inspiration for one of my own songs (Once Long Ago) If I can ever get a demo recorded I'd put it up :)

  • All of you just shut up and listen to this masterpiece. Nobody really cares who is "awesome!'. If you're just coming on to start arguements then get off of youtube.

  • This track is awesome. Real masterpiece.

  • @hansmys ????

  • I love this song......<3

  • in finland, you have to elect one of three.

they believe that you must give somthing back to your country .its seen as a gift and most people are happy with this. you must either serve 6 months in the millitary

or do 6 months community service. i.e litter pick or associated tasks

or go to prison for 6 months.

its forced on you to make this choice and i must say most choose community service, when i visited finland it was so clean, and people were friendly and happy. its actually a good thing

  • actually community service lasts longer than 6months... as the prison thing... and the military service is minimum of 6 months and can vary anything between 6-12 months

  • how do u know?, lol just kidding. are you from Finland?

    mita kuluu ?

    hyvaa paiva. :D

  • yes I am from finland... ja kuuluu hyvää ja hyvää päivää vaa sulleki :D

  • Everytime I hear a new song with Kotipelto as the lead singer I always wonder which band it is lmao Is it .. Stratovarious..?..Kotipelto's own side project?..NOW Cain's Offering..? Or did Warmen ask him to sing again for them? Kotipelto is probably the biggest singer in modern day power metal.

  • don't forget Tony

  • ignorant.

  • wtf? Tony is awesome! You retarded or something?

  • No, he isn't, but you're a fucking idiot. You don't say why he is that either. I bet you'll say "because i dont like him", which is just a stupid opinion, far from the truth. Cause Tony is awesome.

  • dam that dude is making you all fagots :D

  • You're the faggot, you narrow-minded piece of shit.

  • Tony has a better voice but, Kotipelto is immortal.

  • its good that they have Jani, tough I wish he shouldn't left Sonata, respect for this song, metal isn't the same anymore... Stay metal! (sorry for the bad english)

  • there's a mistake in this part :

I traveled so far defying the dawn

just to see where this road leads

my foolish HUNT, unbroken *unscarred* was whole

    ...and then there was you.

    it supposed to say HEART

  • Sonata Arctica + Stratovarius = Amazing..

  • respect for you, just think

  • @m0xalis Both of these two bands, ROCKS !!!!!!

  • simple but fuckin' right lyrics... love Mikko Harkin and Jani in particular, great combination ! :p

  • love Timo's voice... what a emotional song!

  • timo is better !!!!

  • next time I'm at best buy, I'm buying this album. Great stuff.

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Very beautiful!!!

  • Why did Sonata Artica split again? 8(

  • @UltimateRukia

In finland everyone has to serve at least 2 years of military service. Jani had to serve them

  • Uuh very goodie :)

This really has a great vibe =)

    Big thanks for this.

  • Everyone's talking about Jani Liimatainen and timo Kotipelto but you are forgetting Mikko Härkin who is, just like Jani, an Ex-Sonata Arctica member, too!

  • @silv4hs I Love Jani and Mikko, that's so cool that they both are in same band again. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @silv4hs and you forgot about Hurula and Koskinen... damn, they always forget about drummers and bassists... believe me i now from experience

  • It´s AOR?

  • This song has really helped me... I don't know what to feel anymore, but I love this song :)

  • the melody at the beginning sounds like musik from the movie "spirited away "

  • Never heard of this band before, but God... I freaking love them!!! They are fantastic!! Made my day much brighter! :)

Any good, not-well-known bands which are a lot like Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Cain's Offering, etc.? :)

  • Cain's Offering is relatively new, this is their first album and it was released in America on September 11, 2009. By the way, did you know their guitarist is Jani from Sonata and their singer is Timo from Stratovarius? ; )

And you want more bands you say? Certainly, check out "Sworn in the Metal Wind" by Lost Horizon. You WONT be disappointed.

  • Thanks for you input! :)

Yeah, I knew it is Timo from Stratovarius, and former Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani :)

I already know Lost Horizon and "Sworn In The Metal Wind", great song btw. :)

  • Haha awesome : )

    Have you heard Gamma Ray?

  • Of course!! :)

The band will have to be much more underground than that! :)

  • Haha ok let me think...

    Have you heard of...Iron Savior?

  • Heard of them, yes... But I must admit I never really listened to their music.

    Thank you :)

  • Hmm...

Okay listen to "Thunderbird" by Iron Savior.

I think you might like it.

  • No, it's Timo from Stratovarius.

    Do your research ; )

  • james labrie is the singer of dream theater O.o

  • I dont think I like this band too much. Maybe i need to hear it with a more open mind.

  • Comment removed

  • why cant the solo last longer? its fucking epic :)

  • la migliore dell'album!!!!

  • sta canzone mi dà una sensazione come di libertà immensa... *.*

  • fucking good band !

  • actually kotipelto sings "different" in cains dont know why but his voice its like smoth

  • im thinkin sonata should have kept jani but timo sings with so much passion on this song

  • Cain's Rocks soooo hard if you saw my display of how many times i have listen to each song each one is over 100 times , Jani and Timo 4 ever !!!

  • timo kotipelto is an excellent singer with a very emotional voice..and this combination of his voice with the abilities of 2former members of Sonata Arctica was a brilliant idea!

  • Very Powerfull, good vocals

  • This song helped me through a harsh breakup, and it is one of the most emotional songs in my library. I love it. Great job!!

  • Words can't describe what I feel when I'm listening to this song :X

    Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

  • thats the first song after 5 months that made me almost cry xD i LOVE this band \m/

  • amazing chorus!

  • awesome, you can clearly see in the lyrics how he's talking about his departure from sonata, cool the way he got timo kotieplto

  • The most beautiful song I've ever heard =), Timo Kotipelto is truly an amazing vocalist!

  • here he sings alot bether than in stratovarius cause there he dont sing tht good xD

  • tony kakko aswell!!

  • Windu, Jani left Sonata because he had to perform militar services, he even went to prision 1 month because he tried to avoid them. So he left

  • I've posted a video with the lyrics for Morpheus. I'm gunna be uploading the others over the next few days (with lyrics) :)

  • I wish I had a lighter to wave around

  • the album is really interesting. Cain's offering can suparate Sonata Arctica , despite they are beginnig they have excellent songs!!!

  • how gay, if you don't like sonata arctica anymore because of their new style, then you don't deserve to be a fan of them anyways.

  • there are a bunch of mistakes in those lyrics anyway keep upoading more songs with lyrics

  • Musican taste should be defined by what you like, not by a genre you're supposed to like. Eddie Van Halen once said, "It's called pop because it's pop-ular."

  • Me and my friend have wrote up all the Cain's Offering lyrics :) If you want them (and we get credit xD) well be happy to give you them :D

  • If you have those lyrics, ¿can you give me by private message? thanks very much

  • fukin beast lol XD glad to see him playing guitar again!

  • how come did he get the whole album??

  • It's already out in Asia I think, EU and US will get it in August...

  • Amazing Band

    I like This track.

    Is so good.

  • Buying this album the minute it comes out in Canada!

  • Their next album is more like Silence.

  • so we will all listening to cain's offering :)

    sorry for my english

  • Where, how long ago? I heard quite contrary like last week.

    Also, check: terrorizer . com / content / last-weekends-amazing-haze

  • Am I the only one who really liked Unia??

  • Unia is my favourite album of Sonata Arctica. I'm with you!

That doesn't mean I don't like other albums of Sonata, they are all awesome.

But I think Unia is special, and Tony said they HAD to do it. They felt it.

    I love it.

  • I like Unia,but i dont know...i prefer the old stuff :)

  • Many sonata's fans agree that unia it's one of the best albums some others thinks it sucks 'cuz they change the style and because of the change of the guitarist.

Personally I stayed with sonata 'til the last album where jani apears, then, sonata wasn't the same

  • wow, an album that attracted new people to the band, you talk about it like it's a bad thing . . .

  • So you want everything and everyone to be stuck in this over genred general certain area? grow up.

  • commercial sound? haha what? unia's sound is anything but commercial.

  • Well due to the fact that this album appealed to hundreds of thousands more people than their previous release, people who have never even heard of Power Metal before and the fact that it was promoted on many local popular radio stations, this warrants the title commercial.

  • Just because people liked it and it was promoted isn't a bad thing. Commercial means it sells high, commericial is not, I repeat that it is NOT a genre of music.

  • Actually, although Unia doesn't sound commercial to the ear, it follows a very disturbing commercial trend.

Guitar solos seem to have gone out of fashion in exchange for supposedly emotional songwriting. With the exception of Black and White, I can't think of a song where Jani gets to shine on Unia.

Same again with Nightwish's last one... and Soilwork... and In Flames... etc etc

What is the common link here? All those bands have now cracked the American market.

  • no. you are a fool.

  • I agree with TruueMetal, composing song just for selling it's bad, 'cuz they don't put entusiasm on their composing, getting more money with an empty song will be better than with a song that makes you think or reflexionate, a clarly example of this is metallica their songs sucks, but if they still making lot of money, they don't care if their music sucks.

I prefer unknown bands than comercial bands, they always will be better, and you can find there the true magic of metal

  • Give it a rest, bands evolve stylistically, it's not about what's commerical, there's no such thing, you guys just don't think it's cool anymore because others like it now. I have enjoyed all of Sonata's albums. Just for the record, Jani was kicked out of the band for his failure to perform his legally obligated civil duties to Finland.

  • u are so abselutely right :P,who cares about if their known ur not they all forget wht music is about!

  • I thought Unia had Jani on it??

  • Yes it had. Just watch Paind in Full, you can see Jani on the video :)

  • Aparently jani worked on Unia, but at this time jani was already abandoning the band, that's why he didn't go to unia tour, I think jani left sonata maybe because they didn't play power metal, unfourtunantely, tony kakko had said sonata won't play more power metal

  • wrong irresposibility on his civil duties on Jani side give tony no chance to hold jani in the band well jani strongest influence is John Petrucci from DT and they play Progressive Metal it one of my fav bands too so i dont think that no power metal can be the reason to disband an awesome guitar player and sonata still play power metal with strong progressive influence yeah but they say their next album will be less prog than unia so we will see...

  • I think you'll find their next album will continue in the same direction as unia. Considering the band themselves have stated so.

  • Could you provide a link or a reference where they state so, and what do they state exactly?

  • Yes...Sonata is dead to me, sadly.

  • I admit Sonata is far deeper and complex (Especially with Unia).

But Cain's Offering sure knows how to smack some top notch Power Metal on your dirty little face :)

  • The album isn't even out yet and the band hasn't really done much yet, nor shown its future direction. Your statement is based on a lot.
