It may not have been the greatest story however, there was spaceships, aliens. teleportation to another planet and huge explosion at the end.. All the ingredients for entertainment. I liken this movie to the campy/slocky 80's direct to ideo genre. With a bigger budget for which to screw up with. The SyFy Channel routinely produces much worse so-called original movies..I would watch Battlefield Earth

This movie is really bad. the plot don't make any sense. How the aliens developed all that impressive war machinery if they were never able to produce nuclear weapons? Also, that plot device is plain stupid since radioactive minerals exist in nature. also, these aliens don't know shit about humans, after 1,000? what we eat or that we are able to think? why the aliens did not exterminate themselves? they look pretty violent race.

Travolta is also one of the worst actors in recent history. Maybe if Carrot Top had his role I could find the movie more believeable. But the truth is, I couldn't. The plot is a mess and the actors were clearly just doing it for the money. The reason why you're the biggest fan is because everyone else hated it.

- totally unrealistic action sequences

- bad special effects, but still better than a B-movies
