the mk6 is way better then its previous models. VW has tightened its profit margins in order to make a better car and keep the price competitive. Its part of there plan to become the dominant car manufacturer, and penetrate the US market. This is a terrific car.

the reason VW put this out was they greatly reduced production costs compared to version 5, so now they can make more money on the GTi and make more of them, they didnt want to change a winning formula as well hence made subtle changes, maybe a 5.5 is more correct still better than the 5!

the golf 6 gti has a new engien it´s not the same as golf 5 gti the new one needs 6.9 to 100 the golf 5 gti edition with 230ps needs 6.8 so think about what you say northwesternl.sorry for my bad english greeds from germany

Actually I can. This is a pathetic car. They should have called it the Golf 5.5. Recycling an old car and saying it's new... Not that I hate VW or anything, but they just ruined the Golf. The Golf IV was fantastic and beautiful. The Golf 5 was ok, but ugly. And now they made it even uglier, and they didn't even tune the engine to stack up with the competion.

GTI is one class above it competitors. Ask your self...do people really care only about 0-100? That's why GTI is the best seller.

Comfort/Sport/Style/Quality. I really don't want it to have 300hp....it's just unecessary....it's a GTI not a rally car!

golf iv was the worst golf ever made in every aspect. the design - you like it or not, but as a car, mk5 was a waaaay better than mk4. and mk6 is way better than mk5. the new one is really great

I actually had a Golf IV and V. (IV was a TDI with 180hp and V was a GT 1.4TSI with 180 hp) I had less trouble with the Golf IV. The V wasn't better. And the VI is not better, it's the same as the V, it only costs less.

Agreed! They made it simply for cheapness. it will be the same unreliable bucket of recycled over priced shit that VW have been turning out for years. The last time they made a great car was the mk2 golf . the mk 4 was nice to look at but soooooooo unreliable. Gearboxes going fucked, windows dropping in doors.all pretty poor
