  • WAIT FOR IT, WAIT FOR IT, and there it was. OH FUCK. I have given birth naturally four times and I swore like a sailor. You go girl.

  • @TheVidesi This comment cracked me up :)

  • Still screaming up a storm I see. lol

  • @WhiteRain74 Uh, yeah? I get to get through it however I get through it. That's how it works :) And really, how lovely to be at home where no one tries to shut you up. Vocalizing can be really useful sometimes.

  • Such inspirational videos!! Ive had 2 babies thus far both drug free with a midwife and im thinking if we ever have another id love to attempt a home birth, though people think Im crazy, the entire time i was in labor i just kept telling myself, women have been giving birth drug free since the beginning of time, this is the way its ,meant to be and its so much better for the baby, and that's what truly helped me make it through ( other than an amazing husband) Love your music choices too btw :)

  • @MsSiirena Having a drug-free birth in the hospital - even with a midwife - is a pretty large accomplishment. Good for you - doing it twice :)

  • 7:02 retarded seal

  • @missan1 I do sound pretty funny at points :)

  • I miss your friendship on Facebook. :(

  • @klwewf I'm barely on facebook anymore. I just can't keep up with it much and only use it for a few things. Good to hear from you!

  • Congratulations! I was wondering if you had a tattoo or something on your forehead? I noticed a kind of blue smudge when there was a close-up.

  • @kiwikawa2007 I do, yes :)

  • @TheIsabelrox That's a tattoo. It's 4 phases of the moon.

  • i wanted my boyfriend with me when i was ready to push out our daughter but i sure as hell didnt want him while i was in the first stage feeling those contractions cause i know id probably had curse him left, right and center

  • @TheBeloved1one Everyone is different. I never felt like cursing him :) I wasn't mad at him.

  • @isarma42 i don't feel i really wouldve curse him out but he waznt the support system i wanted at that time, ive never felt contractions naturally even when my cervix was 10cm dilated i didnt know cause i didnt feel a thing its only when they decide to induce me that i got to know how contractions feel like,

  • @TheBeloved1one Induced contractions are TERRIBLE :(

  • how long were you in labour for?

  • @TheBeloved1one Depends on how you count. From the first regular contractions, about 12 hours, but I wasn't sure it was the real thing yet. Hard labor? About 5 hours.

  • You could've screamed you know.

  • @renerocks745 Um, I did? What an odd thing to say.

  • @isarma42 Thats him being sarcastic.

  • @yugioh199 Ah, well, that makes more sense. Sarcasm doesn't always translate to typing well.

  • Y r u scared?

  • @renerocks745 I was very scared at points. That's usually part of transition.

  • but why is your husband naked?

and why did that woman got naked?

    is it a nudist family?

  • @banuri We're not nudists, no, but we're definitely hippies and nudity isn't a big deal to us. They were both comfy that way and probably didn't want to deal with washing birth goo out of their clothes:)

  • @isarma42 I can't believe how many times you are willing to answer the same question, Sarah ("why is your husband and girlfriend naked?"). Very cool. By now, I would have just posted it in the descrptions and been done with it-lol. How have you been, beautiful?

  • @klwewf I've considered doing an FAQ, but I decided most wouldn't stop to read it, they'd ask anyway and I'd just get annoyed when answering the questions. So I skipped it.

    Things are great!

  • i love that you put your entire birth on, instead of just delivery

  • @mama2be123 Thanks:) I've never been great at editing.

  • @mama2be123

I know right? 'cause a lot of people think that giving birth is a matter of 5 or 10 minutes and they don't realize all the pain (and time) that a woman goes through in order to give birht!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • super brave women

  • @HomeBuyersofOhio I appreciate the intended compliment, but I don't think I'm brave:)

  • @Aniallheart2 Not me, no. I like people and noise. They are my closest friends and I was thrilled to have each of them there.

  • This is a beautiful birth. I am a studying OB to be and I think homebirth is also very relaxing and beautiful. Great job! What did it feel like when you were pushing out the head?

  • @Snowwy7 How wonderful! We need more homebirth supportive OBs. Maybe you work with midwives one day. I think they call it the "ring of fire" for a reason:)

  • @Aniallheart2 Not at all. I invited each one individually.

  • best....

  • @ebul87 Um, thanks?

  • @isarma42 welcome,

  • You are so awesome!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for showing what a real and natural birth is like.

  • @koszofamily You're welcome:)

  • aww the littel kid is like wats going on????

  • @10girlygirl Both kids did really great:) The footage of them playing together is some of my favorite.

  • @iluvdawsonscreek Thank you and you're so welcome:)

  • @GianlucaSuperboy Ha! I guess we photoshopped the baby into Part 7 and 8?

  • you are very strong!!! but may i ask you what did the pain feel like?

  • @goofyfunky67 thanks:) I've never been any good at describing birth pain.

  • The sweetest video I've seen in a long time. The support from family and friends is wonderful. And I wish the best to her and her family.

    The brother from Chi-Town

  • @CDrakejr45 Thanks so much:)

  • is she farting at 1:50?

  • @98missjackson Don't think so, but why would it matter if I had? Birth isn't a neat or tidy affair.

  • I'm curious what are the four spots around your belly button? Are they tattooed? How about the one on your forehead?

  • @katiab30 Yup, both tattoos. The four spots are phases of the moon.

  • Your belly was HUGE....no wonder since the baby was nearly 11 lbs!!! Congratulations on a beautiful (though scary to watch at times) birth!

  • @katiab30 Oh yeah, I was big:) I show pictures of me still to pregnant women who think they're fat.

  • is the little boy with black t shirt ur oldest son? OMG hes GORGEUS

  • @magicmoonlight87 Yes and Thanks!

  • and how old is he?

  • @hiervince Declan is 7 in the video. He's 9 now:)

  • ohh, thanks for the reply. actually my science teacher showed us (our class) this video during our topic of the reproductive system. she a had a youtube account but now deleted it. i don't know why.

  • @hiervince Wow, that's wonderful that she showed it:) I'm so glad people are finding it useful!

  • u did a great job, that was a real mericle. u r very brave.

  • @umAlbanat1 Thanks:)

  • y do u have so many dots on ur stomach?

  • @Snowbuni00luv It's a tattoo - the phases of the moon.

  • oh thats nice

  • @Snowbuni00luv Thanks:)

  • and then i hear the "prutttt"

  • @wasabi645 Sorry, the what? Likely just a sound I was making.

  • i think he he ment the sound u were making at 3:55

  • @Snowbuni00luv Yeah, a birth sound.

  • why is she crying at 1:47 ?

  • @wasabi645 Pain? Frustration? Pretty common reaction:)

  • Thanks:)

  • This video is beautiful. Your family and friends are so supportive! You are a very strong woman, congrats on the new baby!

  • Thank you so much. And yes, my family and friends were and are just wonderful!

  • how did u tell how far along u were?

  • I knew when I conceived.

  • What does, "the lady bug is red and spotty" mean?

  • It helps to have a focus object. When the pain got very bad they'd ask me to tell them about the lady bug. That was me describing it to them.

  • Wow! :) very inspiring! someday i hope to do as well as you! i want to be a labor and delivery nurse someday and this has definetely inspired me. congratulations, hes beautiful! best of luck to you!

  • We could definitely use more people supportive of normal birth in the hospital:)

  • how old were u there???????

  • I was 30.

  • Do you think is you knew that is was going to be like this... that you wudd have gone to an actual hospital?

  • Oh no, of course not. Then I'd just be in pain and in an uncomfortable, unfamiliar place with lots of strangers trying to talk me into things I didn't want. No thank you.

  • That is exactly how I feel... I had my first son in a hospital it was really uncomfortable ... i had my other son at home if feels the same ammount of pain... but my opinion is it is better at home.

  • For sure! Alot of women say they experience less pain at home, but I didn't. Still, if I'm going to be in pain, I'd rather be at home and surrounded by people I love.

  • Actually, being in a hospital increases whatever pain you are going to have by putting you flat on your back. You increase pressure on your spine and end up pushing the baby uphill because of the tilt of the pelvis. You also can't change position as easily which is necessary for the baby to change position as needed.

  • All very true.

  • The four dots on your stomach, do they have any particular meaning?

  • They're 4 phases of the moon.

  • so essentially they are blessings? im not keen on this kind of thing

  • Blessings? No, it's a tattoo.

  • ah...heh sorry about that :) like the others have said though, you are a strong woman...i only hope some day when i find someone to be with that ill be strong enough to do the same thing

  • You can do it:)

  • is your name rachel?

  • Nope, I'm Sarah.

  • The painful one : though it is understood.

    Isn't it shouting too much?

When physical strength decreases and it gives birth, will it be serious?

  • Sorry, "It"? Do you mean "she", as in me, the mother or "he" as in my baby? I don't understand your question otherwise. Perhaps English isn't you first language?

  • No one particular person. During my first birth I actually said, "I think I could handle this if everyone would just leave me alone." I didn't mean my loved ones. I've always wanted them there. I meant the DRs and nurses. I didn't like any of it and I never found it helpful or useful. That was a decade before Bastian's birth.

  • i was the same, i told them that i would do much better if they jsut left me alone with my mum and my partner.

  • Yes! Much easier:)

  • how soon after the baby is born does the pain disappear? ...and wow, good job because i seriously doubt i'm going to be able to handle that type of pain (i'm only 20 so nowhere near ready to have children but even in the future i don't think i'm capable of standing such pain!)

  • It probably depends highly on the type of birth. After my epidurals, I felt run over by a truck. With Bastian, it instantly went away, which tends to be the case with natural birth.

  • Also, did you find it conforting to sing?

and the noise you started making at 3:40 ?

    Sorry for the questions!

  • I found singing very helpful. I love to sing. It's also a good tool. If your mouth is relaxed, so is the rest of you. If you're singing, you're also breathing deeply.

That's what Ina May Gaskin calls horse lips. It keeps your jaw relaxed. If your jaw is relaxed, so is your cervix:)

  • Wow!

    Hun you did AMAZING!

    Good job!

    :)

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks:)

  • you are a strong woman

  • Thanks:)

  • how many hours did it take?

  • Probably 12 hours from the first regular contractions, but only about 5 hours that were really painful.

  • i bet they were painful !

  • The last few hours certainly were:) It's only for a little while, though, and when it's over the pain disappears, with natural birth. Not every woman experiences really painful labor. It varies.

  • lol i mean like physically it doesn't look like anything is happening to you

obviously these things are happening but only you can feel them

  • Ah.

  • its so weird how nothing seems to be happening but it hurts you so much

  • Um, labor is happening? The baby is shifting and dropping down. My body is opening. My uterus is contracting. An awful lot is going on:)

  • Yup:)

  • I hope you don't find this rude but when you start shaking your head back and forth at 4:02, it looks like your head is going to spin all the way around, like the exorcist. It looks kinda funny. Sorry if I offended you.

  • Nah, you don't offend me. It sorta does look like that! Funny:)

  • Hey Sarah. have you ever thought to make an instructional DVD? Well, not exactly instructional, but a DVD of this entire experience / "performance" showing how one can handle child birth?

I mean, right up to the point of the actual amazing & beautiful moment of seeing Bastian come into the world, you look and sound pretty sexy/hot (at many points). Many folks would get different things out of it.

  • I don't think you can make an instructional DVD for childbirth. I think it's good to watch as many birth videos as possible and read many birth stories, so you get an idea of variance.

  • Yes, I agree w/ you. I mispoke when saying "instructional". But, a DVD could still be produced with the intentions you explained. Giving folks options. I mean, the DVD could be produced & released for the exact same reasons you posted it on YouTube in the first place - you see, pretty lady? :)

  • I see what you're saying, but I'm not interested in making a how to UC video. It's important for any woman to watch alot of different things, read and mostly think and feel what's right for her. One person, another person, can't lay all that out for her.

  • Point taken.

  • was it worth is to do it again even thought it hurt so much

  • Absolutely:)

  • can you email me those songs you have playing. they sound so good. and calming.

  • If you go to isarma42 on Blogspot (sorry, it won't let me post web addresses) I have a full songlist there.

  • is that a tattoo on your stomach?

  • Yup:)

  • i know how bad this hurts. but it's a beautiful thing. all the time i had natural birth i kept thinking, wow this hurts really really bad. i knew i had to pull it together and get through this! God bless you and your beautiful family!

  • Thanks:)

  • WOW! From 3:55-4:24, you really got the "horse lips" thing going. It's really very cute. I actually enjoy that part on different levels. And, of course, it's great you also did it to help get you through the pain. You just have a way of makin' all this interesting and quite frankly, alluring. Great girl.

  • I still use it for pain coping. It's an excellent technique:)

  • What type of pain? You mean cuts, slips & falls?-lol Actually, seems like it might be used for "pleasure" as well! Sorry, that was bad right? Just some adult oriented humor, with a smidgen of truth there, pretty lady.

  • It does:) He actually already turned 1 on 11/20. He's 13 months old now!

  • the little boy in the back was that morgan's son and if it was at anypooint did you mind the talking.

  • If you mean the toddler, yes and no.

  • if you could would you every stand up and just sway bak adn forth and squat when you would need to. i ahve seen that in other videos.

  • I could do whatever I wanted, I just didn't want to leave the pool at that point.

  • Video Update!

Morgan and I recently did a Good Morning America interview about Breastfeeding (Cross-nursing, specifically) with our youngest boys, Bastian and Donovan. The video and radio program are up Check my main page.

  • a boy is just sitting on the bloody sofa!

lol, this birth is amazing, beauitiful baby coming alert

  • Yeah? He's my older son. He's waiting for his brother to be born:)

Thanks. Babies are generally reported to be more alert when born unhindered and undrugged:)

  • This is a beautiful video, thanks for sharing. I wanted to know if your other births in the hospital were medicated and if you prefered it the natural way.

  • Thanks! Yup - both were. My first by choice. Induction and epidural as soon as they'd put it in. I didn't believe that I could do it without, but I hated the drugs so much, I tried. My second I made it quite far without drugs, but caved in transition - with pressure from the medical staff. This was my first natural birth and yes, so much better! I'd do this 100 more times before I'd take 1 more epidural. In fact, I still have a back injury from my second epidural...8 years later.

  • nice song who is that?

  • In the beginning? Meredith Brooks - What would happen if we kissed.

  • You did great! :) I want to have a homebirth when i have kids but my friend is scaring me about the pain. I know its really bad but shes freaking me out and shes never even had birth without meds.

  • Well, if she's never had a normal birth, she's probably not the best person to be advising you on one:) I've had both and I'd do my homebirth a million times over before I'd do my hospital birth with meds once. If it's what you want, go for it!

  • thank you so much for the advice

  • Sure:) If you're worried about pain, perhaps look into something like a hypnobirthing class or a hypnobabies course at home. I've heard amazing things about them, but have never taken one myself. I sorta wish I had - my transitions are super long and crazy:)

  • hehe u sound like a horse in that one spot!

  • Horse lips are fantastic! It's a technique that Ina May talks about quiet a bit in her chapter on sphincters. Basically, if your jaw is tight, so is your cervix. A good way to remind yourself to relax your jaw is to breathe like that.

  • You really were thinking posting this. Not only is it informative. But, just an interesting thing to watch. You're so lovely. And, you have a very sensual way about you. Good girl. :)

  • It aired today (which marked the third change) and no one told us. I missed it! It turned out really well, though! They didn't the facts quite right, but did an awfully good job. I can't post links here, but the links are on my channel's main page. You can also go to ABC's website and search "cross-nursing".

  • ************************************************** ****************

DATE CHANGED: WEDNESDAY, JULY 30th, I'M GOING TO BE ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA! I'm told around 8-8:30 EST. I'll be on with Morgan (she's in the birth video, as well, brown ponytail) and our families. We were interviewed on cross nursing, which is nursing someone else's baby. Should be interesting to see how they spin the story. Obviously we won't know until we see it. Bastian will be on, too, of course! He's 8 months old:)

  • being a woman uve got so much to do an so of the hardest things to well congratulations on ur baby and hope he os she grows up to be a healthy strong intelligent person

  • He and thanks:)

  • Not at all:) I chose everyone who was invited very, very carefully. They've all been in my life for years and are like family. I'm so pleased to have shared the birth with them.

  • wut did u do after da baby wuz born did u go to a hospital or wut?

  • Oh no! Ate, hung out with friends (all while nursing my baby), took a shower, went to bed (with my baby). We took him to see our Ped at 6 days postpartum. I can't imagine having a lovely homebirth and then going to the hospital.

  • u r such a brave woman! my sis says shes proud 2 b a woman a nd b able 2 expierience wat u did!:)

  • Thanks:) There's definitely a power to womanhood.

  • Huh? It's there. Parts 1-9 are listed on my main page.

  • You, too:)

  • Um, okay? Good for you.

  • By using words like "right" to describe something that should be a choice, rather than your moral imperative, you don't really strengthen your case.

  • Once again, you have the best replies Sarah. I couldn't have said it better myself pretty lady.
