No, this is only the basic one so no SD card slot.

ya umm i have the same thing and i found out its sold out they dont make it anymore and i was wondering did you get the new update for the palm desktop cause my dad has one an advance pda and palm desktop and his pda crashed i was only wondering if you updated it

no not on this basic model - step up to the Palm E2 and you get wifi - but you'd need a Palm Treo of some kind for phone access.

it would be perfect for you - and its cheap so its an easy way to start out with PDA's - or at the moment palm is giving away z22's if you buy the bigger TX model.

Yes you can - but due to its lower specs (processor, memory) not all software can run on it - just check with the software developers first.

I would say yes - the strength of palm even tho there are now newer and more sophisticated OS out there is its simplicity - very hard to break or mess up, reliable also.

Sorry, I don't use it for this... you'd have to check the specs required by the ebook software - also it only has 16mb internal memory, so no room for too many books...

Reading ebooks is possible BUT :

it doesn't support pdf !!

Even if u install a pdf reader.

U wont get any other files than pdb and prc on it.

With the free eReader u can nicely read pdbs or pdf files convertet to pdb.

Search for "ABC Amber PDF Converter".

Its the only software that can convert pdf to pdb.

But u can simply copy the text of a pdf in acrobat reader, paste it into OpenOffice writer and finally save as pdb.

Works pretty good !

are you shure it has no mp3 and can you drag videos and pictures from the computer to the device Palm Z22

It may run mp3 software like mPlayer - you'd have to check - but has no mp3 software already installed. As for dragging images - no you'd have to install them via Palm Desktop.
