UKIP sounds like the only party even advocating a capitalist position, eject yourselves from the EU, take care of your own interests, and let the rest of the world do the same....
Thats the kind of thinking that took the "conservative" party from Thatcher to Cameron. Stand up for the principles you believe in! People appreciate honesty and opions can change.
The proof is in the pudding m8, when was the last time you caught a train ? the fact is privatisation does'nt work because it's profit driven, being profit driven means they care more about thier profits than thier customers, which is evident on a daily basis. Your equation would be true if like i said the private companies actualy gave a toss about thier customers. Privatisation = Profit driven at the cost of being service driven.
I've used our trains regularly for over twenty years. There seems to exist some form of Peter Hitchens school of British Rail romanticism. Oh how I don't miss the BR days. Profit-motivated competition, in spite of government interference and socialist propaganda, has definitely improved the service over the years. In any case, why should I be forced to pay for a rail system that operates quite fine on a voluntary basis? Disheartening to see UKIP still haven't got it.
@f00ts0uljah but rail companies are licensed by the government, they are not under a true free-market system where the customer will have more choice. Also, without profit there is no capital therefore no investment, therefore no improvement in standards.
That is ridiculous. In order to make a profit, companies have to attract customers by providing better quality, cheaper services. Unfortunately, the train services are not fully privatised in that they cannot charge different fees and so there is little competition and few market forces are acting.
As you're obviously aware, some people refuse to try and understand the function of profits in a capitalist system and instead opt to parrot socialist prejudices and buzzwords gleaned from years of uncritical indoctrination. You have my empathy!
Yes, a very good old film. If I recall, it's a bit sixties-studenty. Perhaps a UKIP-supporting film-maker could bring it up to date for a modern British audience!
Brilliant, a little harder to listen to but still brilliant.

I thought this was supposed to be a libertarian party

Hmm i'd rather listen to Nigel Farage, he makes more sense of it all. Not this ant-privatisation rhetoric Mike's on about.
