  • :-0 and to believe i used to think the Solo de Concours by messeger was difficult...i wanna play this, but i don't know if i could even comprehend it...haha

  • That was a very fine performance as soloist

  • This is in concert B, isn't it??

  • superb intonation, sound quality and fingering technique!!! however, it seems that most of the D and E above the middle C are a tiny bit flat than the rest of the notes.

  • One hell of a piece to premiere on with orchestra. Excellent job. And yes, unfortunate about the trumpet player at 4:06 hahah.

  • by the way, good job on bar 34, most people play the mistake that's written in most editions, glad to see some one did their research on this piece.

  • 4:06 haha oops...

  • Magnifique !!! 5*

  • rc prestige, 100 procent, fantastik.........bravo

  • It's only a small thing, but does anyone else agree with me that the tounging lick Mauricio does at 4:23 is just absolutely awesome?

  • Great techniques as fingering and thounging goes. May I suggest you use a bit more air on the soft parts? You tend to die a little bit in piano.. Overall: Ace performance!

  • Your tone is to die for!

    GREAT performance! ^.^

  • AWESOME~!!? XDDD LOL~!!!

  • I'm 14. I play the clarinet. I'm going into highschool (9th grade) next year... I am good... (not trying to be selfabsorbed, or vein) I can play concertos by mozart, and others, and yadayada...

    muchos exitos

  • bravo! i'm a clarinet player as well. good luck in the future!

  • where is the sheet music for this? I want to play it sooo badly, but i can;t find it anywhere

  • You people are hilarious, this is pretty much the most difficult clarinet Concerto written to date. Great job! I intend to play this at my next Graduate recital and I hope that it goes as well as this performance. :)

  • A little rough 2:33 - 2:49 , but otherwise an amazing job!

  • Oh my god...I say that a lot! But he is A-maaaazing! BRAVO!!!!!!! But, just commenting here, everyone i have seen moves their clarinet around when they play! lol

  • First class!

  • Bravissimo!

  • your performance is excellent!!

In Taiwan , this masterpiece doesn't perform usually.

  • Greatness! Amazingness!! BRAVO!!!

Seems Very Diffucult Exspecially to my standards (high school) lol

  • It's very difficult on the Bb clarinet as written but played on the A clarinet it would be much easier.

  • very good. jean francaix is not an easy one to play.

  • Mauricio, I have just one word for you:

    BRAVO!!!

  • hui mauricio tas bn lindo...

  • muuuchisimas gracias...jejejej

  • wow your amazing better than me! i need to start practicing more! :]

  • Wow, you technique is excellent as well as your staccatos, also i was wondering is this piece more technically challenging than the nieslen concerto?

  • it's pleasing to hear thru earphone! great musician! you are.,

  • A very fine performance! And the video quality is terrific. Thanks for sharing this great music with us.

  • What clarinet is he using? Is it a Buffet Crampon RC Prestige or is it the Festival?

    What model of clarinet?

  • RC prestige.... Thank you for your comment ...

  • What's with the tie?

  • Where is this concert hall?

  • Is in Bogotá, Colombia. The Venue's name is "Auditorio León de Greiff" at "Universidad Nacional de Colombia"

  • A lovely concerto! Demonstrates the character of the instrument as well as the viruosity of the performer by using a key that not many clarinetists would readily play in! Well done Mr Murcia, well done indeed! The orchestra deserves a well done as well.

  • Fénomenal!! Me encanta este concerto GRACIAS

a este solista por el concierto ESTUPENDO.

  • 2019tiger, just because the writing is tougher than normal standards does not mean the composer is not knowledgeable of the capabilities of the instrument. This is a fantastic concerto, and the sound of the clarinet absolutely completes it

  • You have such a great tone, and you are doing a great job showing the character of this piece!

  • Dear 2019tiger. I agree that all of Francaix' clarinet writing is tough. The wind quintet and the clarinet and strings quintet are both a challenge. This concerto is visually disconcerting--how we hate to play in B major! (Try it on the A clarinet in C major--it will LOOK easier) But Mr. Murcia makes the clear case that this piece is well worth the effort.

  • Great performance on a challenging piece!

  • What type of mouthpiece do you play on? My friend just moved to Colombia from the US, and is having trouble adjusting.

  • I use B40 traditional mouthpiece.

where is your friend living right now?

let me now, maybe I can help him. if he is living in bogota right there is really hard to adapt with reeds...because of the weather.

  • I apologize for my delayed response...internet troubles...

He moved to Colombia from South Florida. He was having some clarinet and reed troubles, and said that he was looking at a B40 mouthpiece. I was wondering what a professional such as yourself in the area played on.

Thank you very much for your assistance, and I will find out specifically where he is in Colombia.

  • this cocerto is not worth the effort the composer does not know the instrument.

  • this cocerto is not worth the effort the composer does not know the instrument.

  • Wow. This is a truly amazing performance. I just recently got the music to this and I almost cried when I saw the score! This is downright heroic. Thanks for posting!

  • This is a brilliant show of technical mastery and stylish, musical playing. Only the slow movement could use better breath control and a more singing, unhurried line. Many professionals (including myself) would be hard pressed to play this as masterfully as you have done. Bravo and a wonderful international future to you.

  • thank you so much for your comment, the previous night to this performance I was sick that's why on the second movement I didn't have much air, and also bogota is 2.300 meters over the sea level; it makes your reed so different.

thank you so much for enjoy my videos.

  • This piece is very amazing. Jean Françaix and Poulenc are known as very technically difficult piece. I would like to give a grand applause to this gentleman. thank you for sharing your performance on youtube. this is the only recording of Jean Françaix concerto with orchestra. thank you very much.

  • thank you so much. I really appreciate to your comment.

  • wow, awesome sound and articulation!

  • I could comment on the brilliance of this performance and the incredibility of the technique of the clarinetist all day.

    Simply put, spectacular.

  • I've been playing the clarinet for 2 and a hlaf years or so.. and daaaaaang......there's only three clarinet players in our school's band. and we couldnt even sound half that good!!!! lol

  • oh cool

I am also from colombia, and I play the clarinet to, but i live in norway.....

    you are soo amazing!

  • Incredible! One day I hope to achieve the same standard of playing. Completely inspiring, thank you so much

  • Bravo!!Excellent you are great man
