I find it when by crystallizing the stone it dose bring out a high shine, but the down side is if you have to repolish a section you end up having to grind the whole surface other wise it won't take a shine.god I love my job
the purpose of a crystalizer is o fill the natural porisity of stone or concreate so it will take a polish. soft stone will require this step hard stone will not.
i hone and crystalize every night only cut certain areas to get out scratches... the empire state build, the lobby is huge so u have to do section at a time..
there are other alternatives to crystallizing. Las Vegas has high traffic areas that are crystallized on a regular basis, they look like plastic. that particular travertine that you refinished in the video will abosorb NOTHING with a high polish. some (not all) travertine will only aborb on the immediate surface even when honed. instead of crystallizer, check out MB-8 and MB-10. very easy to use, does not have the same effects as crystallizer. designed for high traffic commercial flooring
Before leaving a comment it's good to find out where the floor is located. Yes a good finished can be achieved using the right compound. But in a building like this with thousands of people walking through everyday your beautiful floor will last all of 2 days without the crystalizer. I've been doing this for 10 years and nothing makes a floor last longer than crystalizer (it's not wax, there's a difference). Travertine WILL still stain and wear easier than most stones without proper protection.
i thought this was going to be a good video. i was dissapointed when you started crystallizing. it was a beautiful floor untill you waxed it. the crystallizer did nothing you couldnt do with diamonds and a good compound. Noce Travertine is NOT porous when it is highly polished.
