@alanstarkie2001 Hi Alan, good to hear from you. This is more durable that polish. Hard shell. But you really don't "play" with these. If you did, I would recommend a thick layer of polish or even wax. Comon Alan, build one! hehehe.
@alanstarkie2001 I know that Titanic kit. It's 1/350th scale right? That would make an impressive display. Plus you can play with those in the bath tub!
Model building is rewarding. I meant to tell you one of the manufacturers was planning on releasing a Red Arrows kit. I didn't follow up to see if they did.
@ToppervisionEnt It's the Academy 1/400th scale but unfortunately not the premium museum edition - that one has got wooden decks etc. Thing is, when I build it - what do I do with it? I could put it in a display case but we don't have the sort of interior decor that it would go with. It's amongst my projects for a rainy day - including various cameras to restore!
@alanstarkie2001 Aha, your interior decor is not "nautical." I see. You'd build it then put it back in the box. That happens alot. My interior decor is "modern art hobby shop deco" so I can do it. lol.
@ToppervisionEnt thanks for the reply. The reason I asked is because some modelers would say that the lacquer would eat away at enamel paint underneath it.
@GetYourModelOn I can confidently say no. I've always done my paintjobs this way and I've got some sitting there like 15 years old still looking like they were just painted.
@ToppervisionEnt I didn't do the plug wires on this one. My friend has a 1:1 37 roadster and under his hood you don't see a single wire. I kinda wanted that look. I kept it really simple. I should do a vid of his car. You would love it.
@CTspeedshop That's kinda what I was thinking. The motor and compartment is so tight, it would be a waste of time. Kinda like building the interior of a submarine.
Awesome work on the hot rod, can't wait to see it done. I love the color combo, that yellow & black really makes the car pop!! Awesome color choice. That's going to be one sexy little hot rod when it's finished!! Keep up the great work, peace!!
@geckoman1220 Yea, that build along style could work but you gotta keep the pace going real fast. I saw the segments getting long and figured I better cut a part 1. But I can see how to do it now.
very cool you do the same as i in your black contrast on frame i will use sometimes all 3 blcks and i would still through in that grey somewhere all 3 colors would go together well
@1984rx7350 Funny you should say that because I think I'm going to paint the exhaust pipes flat black. That'll make all 3 blacks just as you mentioned. But the actual mufflers should still be silver right?
@ToppervisionEnt no they can be ceramic coated to any color just like headers or aluminum or stainless steal I would do those rims in that grey you did before and some of your interior with black and grey and yellow highlights
@1984rx7350 The grey was the color of the plastic after I stripped the chrome. Grey? With black and yellow? ........I'm gonna have to think about that. Might upset the bumblebee vibe.
@ToppervisionEnt thats up to you i just like that combo of colors together something diff alot do the black and yellow theme just adding a grey in there would make it stand out more.lol just a thought.did you get my other email?
@1984rx7350 LOL, yep, it's in another window. Hang tight!
On the grey, whoah, hold the phone. I've just done a Google search and there's grey all over Bumblebee. You're exactly right! Wow. It would look wrong without it! Hmmm, may have to throw in some hints of silver too. Thanks for waking me up on that.
@1984rx7350 Lol, funny. Going for the robot here. Which I'm still looking at in another window. It appears to have just as much grey as it has black. Hmmm, I want grey now, but not quite that much. I must think this through. Of course it's not really grey grey, it's metal color, grey, type color. Unpainted robot color.
man this is allready hot , that's a great color scheme , nice kit too , kutgw i'm on standby to see this awesome build come to life , 100 stars , peace !
looks good, like the rims , i see this one is going to turn out real nice mike ...peace

Great video and some good tips there. Love the high gloss finish. Is it as durable as polishing though?

Very nice VID and an excellent build, but I have a question, Did you spray Testers Clear Coat Lacquer on top of Testers Enamel?
Peace

@GetYourModelOn Yep, sure did. Staying right on those 20 minute spraying intervals.
