Right from the start of the oil disaster, Jan de Nul Group (Belgium) offered all of his technologies. (Jan de Nul Group for example worked on the Palm Islands of Dubai)
They had ships ready within 5 weeks and also offered several plans to protect the environment and purge the pollution. They all were rejected by BP and the US. Jan de Nul is one of the biggest dredger companies of the world. They have the equipments needed. Why can’t the help?
Maybe I'll get flamed for this, but it reminds me of some of the Katrina mold footage. Eerily beautiful, heartbreaking and tragic. We used to go down to the camp as kids to swim and fly kites. Some good stuff on CNN about unique companies offering unique ways to clean up. Invest in those companies.

Yes, I really wish BP would be investing more in those companies and the ideas that are flowing their way.
Big ears, little mouth should be their motto right now.
If they invested the money in hiring people to investigate solutions that they are spending on PR firms we would be in a lot better place right now
