ive been here once but i was drunk.. i live in a near by city.. can you hook me up with some directions to this place please!!!! streets, city please?????!!!!!
Used to go to Monkey Canyon back in 1976-82. The creek was running full bore and you could hike from the trail just past the tunnel all the way down to Monkey. Thanks for posting
there's a beat up steel bluish post sticking up from where the trail begins. You usually see a bunch of cars parked nearby. But there has been lots of vandalism lately. Don't leave anything out in your carseats. the windows get smashed. Lots of smashed car glass everywhere now :(
directions? sure I dont know if i been here but i been to most the spots up in the angeles crest, i went pretty deep in i found a place with boulders sizes bigger then cars, some even big as houses. But i dont know where monkey canyon is
I had to be air lifted out of the canyon because the temp droped to 40 degrees and it got pitch black.
god that night was horrible. sitting there in shorts and a undershirt with no food we were there for like 15 hours till search and rescue came. ive been there like 6 times and this never happend. its different now theres fish in there
its on angeles forest highway... its about two miles up from the intersection big tujunga canyon road and angeles forest highway... you really have to look for the beginning of the trail... youll see a long mound of sand thats blocked off a trail.. just park somewhere along the road and find a trail through the bushes =]
i miss this place more than any other place in california :) its nice to see that someone captured this place so beautifully...the hike back there and all... thank you :)
that looks like a really fun trip, i tried to find this place yesterday and I couldn't unfortunately :( Could you guys give me directions to exactly where this trail starts? And maybe a description of the exact turnout you're supposed to stop in, is it marked by anything or just looks like any other turnout?
narek23, if you remember where the bridge was, you could stop anywhere near there, and just look for a trail that leads down the mountain...theres a couple of them, but they lead down to the same place....then just follow the creek in the direction to pasadena...eventually ull find it
