  • I believe this one is fake. look at the kecak dancer's hair, none of them has long hair. seriously?? 1930's like ancient bali, not a single man thought about cutting their hair. even for the balinese, long hair for the man is like a part of the culture. thus, the strange thing is, one guy has like chinese actor's hair style.

  • thanks for having this channel, this is very useful for my research

  • thanks for sharing ..love bali

  • 0:19 Balinese people was from Javanese Majapahit origins mixed with Balinese aboriginal people, not Indian tribes refugees.... cmiiw

  • That's no gamelan!

  • Great time

  • Il est intéressant de constater qu'il y avait une vie avant l'avènement de la

télé et de l'internet. Cela dit, je suis heureux de pouvoir regarder de tels

reportages grâce à la technologie d'aujourd'hui. Bravo.

  • I'm a Balinese. So nice to watch this movie.

Matur Suksma and Peace from Bali.

  • now it's full of wester ladies who are seeking for gigolo boy fried and have sex with them... poor bali beach get dirty with western ladies, who shit on the beach

  • @kouayba i feel for you bro

  • Wow Kecak!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing!!!!!

  • how amazing is this clip?

  • I would like to know why did they change the real music of gamelan with this simili asian music made in hollywood , maybe the sound of gamelan had no sense for they develloped western ears . I am just wondering !

  • @yagodusud

Possibly due to inadequate sound recording technology at the time. Or perhaps no sound was recorded at all. The scored music is woefully inadequate substitute.

  • NICE

  • NEARLY WHOLE OF ASIA FOLLOWS BUDDHISM OR HINDUISM, AND RADIATES THE BEAUTIES OF HUMAN CIVILISATION AND CULTURE,EVEN THOUGH DUE TO WESTERN/ MODERN /CHRISTIAN INFLUENCES, ASIA IS DEGRADING FAST,THOUGH "RISIG" IN ECONOMIC SENSE.But MOST BALINESE PRESERVE ORIGINAL HINDUISM with lvoe, and will do so, as long as they do not get fascinated with false values of modernisation. It is not going to be easy. Balinese tourism authority must not let modern education spoil and kill Balinese natural charms.

  • Lovely video of simple living Balinese people and its unpolluted natural scenery that stirs the viewers spirits and elevates the soul. Many will now be induced to go to Bali and get the real feel of it all. Authorities will be well urged to come up with ways to regulate tourist inflow and do nothing that can mar the Balinese beauty of landscape and culture, letting it become history. Many "tourist spots" are now mere overcrowded, stinking spots due to inept, overenthusiastic tourism planning.

  • @MarjorieBakre i agree with you, especially on your point "Authorities will be well urged to come up with ways ......." . Please read my comments which I have just made, for more detailed endorsment of your views. World over tourist departments and private developers are a crazy, greedy lot, and seem to care only for short term gains, and there are not many sites of past glories, though Bali is somewhat an exception. UNITED NATIONS CAN DO MUCH HERE, IF IT GETS MORE POWER AND BETTER MANPOWER.

  • I am from Indonesia. I am proud of Bali. although i never go to Bali, I love it so much!!

  • @dharmala71 I AM SORRY, I FORGOT THE FACT THAT MUCH OF INDONESIA WAS CONVERTED TO ISLAM, WHEN I WROTE THAT WHOLE ASIA IS EITHER HINDU OR BUDDHIST. But I must clarify that Hindu culture [which the beautiful Balinese people have managed to continue with, with love and affection] in modified form exists even in Malaysia and Indonesia, and DUE TO THIS UNDERCURRENT OF HINDU CULTURE, PEOPLE OF ISLAM AND HINDUISM AND ISLAM LIVE VERY, VERY AMICABLY in this region.

  • i love Bali,,,,, <3

  • Bali I Love you.. You are really true people

  • The women today still work hard even the ones that are past 70! I felt ashamed to say I was a lazy westerner!

  • would have been nice to hear the music. Sounds like music from a 1940s hollywood movie haha!

  • the narrator mentions the liberation from the Japanese, so wouldn't this be from the 1940s? Unless the narration was added later to an older film

  • @intensenca I also notice that

  • my guess is that the film is from 1942 instead of 1932; several parts from the film as well as historical circumstances (the Japanese invasion) lead into that direction

  • I LUV BALI...!

    LOVE INDONESIA!!!

  • Too bad they don't use real Balinese music, but some westerner's idea of what Balinese music sounds like.

  • This doco is manificent. Love to archive it. Thanks for uploading.

  • "The" BALI I LUV !

  • Wow...so cool to see this! Can you imagine how Bali will look like in 2032??
