that poor other kid looks quite upset at having to be his brother's lackey...He's either going to grow up and leave his brother in the dust...or kill his brother...and leave him in the dust
How awesome would it be if you were randomly playing your guitar at a venue or somethin' and then Steve Vai comes up behind you and starts tapping on your guitar's fretboard. I'd be like WTF!! Holy Crap! lol
@Sean2112bd id hit him before i saw who it was, this isnt the 80s and things like that just dont fly anymore. but once i realized it was via im sure itd have the same effect as someone pulling out the mentos, then id probably get arrested but thats what you get for touching my guitar when im playing.
@kickcableguyinnuts what are you talking about? STFU, you would have just been a fool for being mentally unstable for hitting somebody because they touched your guitar, especially if its vai, you would probably just be pissed because you suck compared to him
i am mentally unstable, but as i said i would have punched him before i knew who it was period. im not the type to get mad because i suck compared to someone like vai. i watch vai videos on here for inspiration knowing that if he can do what he does i can achieve my goals that are nowhere near what he does, so in conclusion youre just a bitch learning his modes mouthing of to someone who learned them in his tweens while you were listening to hanson MMBOP BITCH! it was just a joke so simadownow
@kickcableguyinnuts why am i bitch learning my modes? because my screenname contains a mode? great logic fuckwit hahaha keep going, i like the way you make a fool of yourself ; ) and as for modes i learned them in my teens too, but i spent a good few years afterwards properly learning them instead of just in 2 or 3 positions unlike you. (using your logic here)
and as for hanson, the fact you even use the term hanson and listening in the same sentence shows you have the intellect of cabbage :D
youre a bitch for mouthing off, i think of my scales all from the root and build the "position" from there and usually think of a scale for a chord instead of playing a single mode for everything, which is more than proper. dorian is great for doing it to your grandma all funky as she likes that jazz in her ear hole. music is a language and in any language that is rude no matter how well spoken you are, would you like it if edgar allan poe were to talk over you when you were saying something.
@kickcableguyinnuts sorry to offend, put a dress on and you will feel much better ; )
and thinking of your scales from the root is not necessarily proper, learn your scales and modes of the scale to the point where you can just play by ear, thats the difference between players who know everything and sound like a scale book and people who know enough that they can think more musically. just because my screenname has a mode doesn't mean i play 1 mode all the time, you have no sense of logic
thinking of the scales with their relationship to the root is proper, for ear training i use solfedge. thats not the difference, there is nothing unprofessional about thinking about the modes as you change keys, getting comfortable with whats in your head makes you stagnant and you should constantly look for new sounds and not be afraid of experimenting at any time i think i will listen to ted greene and my old berklee professors over some random youtube fuck
@lickguysnuts at what point did i speak even indirectly about what you just garbled above?
you have no sense of logic mate, im sorry but you are talking out of your asshole.
if you say in 1 post that you view all scales from the root and then talk about getting comfortable with something can make you stagnant then do you not see the contradiction in your terms?
go back to berklee and atleast try to understand some of the things you're being taught instead of using big words you dont understand
sticking to a basic rule of thumb in how you find fingerings frees your mind to think about what scale to play over each chord of the progression, falling into finger patterns based on the shapes you see with the guitar is what i was saying makes people stagnate. i always keep the root in mind because thats where im trying to get to eventually because its the resolving note, so i think about it. i think you just have a problem with one thing i said so have to disagree with anything else i say
@kickcableguyinnuts im not even arguing wih you, you're just spouting a textbook i probably read as well, you speak like your very factual but you didnt answer the question. And the root is the only resolving note? i take it you just play blues then. peace
the root of the scale, modes are scales too. if you resolve on another note you have just changed to another scale even if its enharmonic like the modes of a major scale. i change the scale with the chord progression, which maybe is or isnt enharmonic with what ive just done. i play jazz funk soul blues classic rock, and sometimes early metal. most of what im saying probably was in textbooks but its in my head from years of use. i dont know which question you wanted answered
@kickcableguyinnuts Modes actually aren't scales. But they are modes derived from a certain scale. But I understand why people see them as seperate scales. It's actually logical thinking, seeing them as seperate scales, because when you practice them, you basically practice them the same way you practice your scales.
@kickcableguyinnuts Dorian is for fags who have either decided to go 1 step above the pentatonic scale or who really want to play the inspector gadget theme tune.
lol.. oh man that was great.. steve is so cool ! hey kid.. you have alot or pressure on you know.. in 10 yrs you better have an album deal and give some radio host a tid bit story about how steve played on your guitar and you had some great vision to rock on !! heh thx for the upload
Haha kid was not a bad little player, when Steve started tapping on his fretboard, it must have infused some type of mystical power, now that kid can really shred with the help of Steve.
that guitar is probably worth millions no scratch that billions no scratch that trillions and trillions of dollars after steve touched it lol. but kid dont sell it man remember money aint everything lol.
