sequence i play goes3/444\33 before the change to 5 on the d, 6 on the d( or G to G#/Ab) with the low e pedalled between...

It actually goes 4/3 0 4/3 3, theres an open note that is super subtle, but you hear it on the instrumental version of this song. Also, instead of string skipping the 2nd sequence of this riff (The part played on the 5th string bass root), that is actually played on the 12th fret 6th string bass root (the same way with an open note)

Its just technicalities really - thats how mastodon plays it to a T, but if it sounds right, just give it.

Sorry, I made a mistake, I meant 3/4 0 4/3.  But there definitely is that open note.

Good vid, basics are right, i think riff one is off by abit your hammering on from 3 to 5 and then 7 to 9 right in the vid, i play it 3 to 4 and 7 to 8! Still good vid man keep up the work!
