  • I found the movie on DVD from bot EBay and Amazon.com. Picture's sorta nothing, but she is marvelous.

  • OOOOMPF!

  • oh my! young people these days!

  • Do you have this movie? If so, where did you get it? I'd love to see it.

  • @Shychick52 Yep, I have it, I guess I got it off TCM.

  • @stjn00 I'll keep an eye out for it on TMC. In the meantime, could you upload it on here?

  • I wonder, if the great depression never happened and the hays code never happened, how long it would have taken for Hollywood to make all-nude musicals. LOL...LOL

  • Wow she was so pretty!

Her face is so expressive and that figure!

  • I'm trying to find the lead sheet / chart for this.

  • That's right, fade it just as it's getting to the good part...

  • the song was written by Louis Alter

  • Does anyone know who wrote this song?

  • Thanks. Again! You put up some of the best little gems on YouTube. Keep it coming.

ps- great to see Ukelele Ike (Cliff Edwards). I only know him from old 78's and as the voice of Jiminy Cricket. I'm told he's in "His Girl Friday", but never figured out which character he was playing.

  • great old tunes...

  • She's great but this clip is so similar to the Mae West version in I'm No Angel that its hard to imagine anyone else doing it.

  • Sorry to disagree, but this song was not in "I'm No Angel", the Paramount film from 1933. Ethel Merman did it in the Broadway version of 'Take A Chance' and Paramount carried it over to the film version (here with Lillian Roth). Mae West did not even record it until later, after the 30s. The Brunswick recording was by Ethel Waters and the Victor recording was by Ramona Davies.

  • You're absolutely right. The similarity of the scene confused me (almost identical). West was singing the Honky Tonk song. She didn't record this song until she issued a 78 rpm album in the 1940's which I have heard many times. I need to be more careful. Thanks.

  • Right...it sure is a similar style scene...from the same year as well.

  • Hot-cha, baby!

    (Also, I'm glad you're back in posting mode;

    I've missed your fine choices.)

  • I'd like to put this in my favorites, but my girlfriend would kill me.
