  • I think its completely awesome that the Irish have pretty much set up their own race in America. No other ancestry has more pride and traditions here, though theres more "german-americans"

  • @SauceJohnsson fuck the germans dame nazies

  • @metisman100

    oh my god....wake up!!!!!!

  • @metisman100

I have Irish ancestry, was born in England (I am half english-half german)....grew up in Germany and you talk SHIT!!!!!!!!! nothing more to say.....

  • @idoitbetter24 ya well if you are german than anything you say is probably a nazie lie

  • @metisman100

    what a TINY mind,poor LITTLE boy...you have a real hard life,hm?!

you have forget IRISH + ENGLISH...hahahaaaa!!

    FAGGOT!!

go and suck daddys dick....bloody bastard :D

  • Irish power!!! Everyone go on napstor or itines and type in "the irish ships are sailing" by nomadica or "irish legend" i forgot who made it

They are not songs with lyrics but they sound great

  • @ypsiroselee actually David Kincaid and another gentleman penned this particular piece. So it's not a rendition. Infact, it's the only one from that album that isn't contemprary with the American Civil War, because Kincaid wrote it before he joined the 116th PA.

  • Who is singing this? i need to know, please help..

  • people find this sad...

but for some reason I find this song...peaceful O-o

  • This song was written by David Kincaid. He does a 116th Pennsylvania impression. The irony of this song is that in the 116th Pa. there was a Capt. Taggart who was killed in very much the same way the song says. Kincaid didn't know that until after he wrote this song

  • oh shit... i cant believe the song is soo beautiful :) :)

  • This most definitely David Kincaid, and has got to be one of my favorite songs performed by him.

  • fantastic!! would be better if the lyrics were in sync with the song...but great sound all the same :-)

  • sounds like the another Irish attempt to toss the English (or Normans) aseaward .. or does this predate th1160s violence?

  • @JeMartele No this is one of your songs, about an Irish regiment fighting the rebels in the American Civil War

  • @JeMartele it is about the death of Captain Samuel Taggart, of the 116th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers, at the Battle of Ream's Station during the American Civil war

  • this has to do with the United States Irish brigade that fought the South and helped the US keep america together during americas worse time

  • This is beautiful and if I could add a " distraught quivering face smiley" I would. I think it is a shame that my ancestors had to leave there once and I am not where I should have been.

  • This is absolutely David Kincaid.

  • It's David Kincaid from his first album.

  • Great song, is it me or are the lyrics way off timing

  • erin go brach!! **from castle bar- county mayo*

  • As a Civil War reenactor that does both sides, this is one of the best. This IS a song of David Kincaid's, its on his CD.

  • That's for certain. Ever since I heard this out at the Hughesville reenactment, I fell in love with it.

  • Track 9 on: The Irish Volunteer

He also does[did] vocals for the Brandos.

  • I am 100% sure that free and green is a song of David Kincaid

  • @Karijata Your certainty is well place, it is David Kincaid

  • @Karijata I say it i say it

  • @Karijata That is correct and it was created by him for an American civil war song cd he put together, not for the IRA who pervert the deaths of brave Irish Americans who died on sacred grounds like Antietam or Manassas or Gettysburg. David Kincaid is a American Civil war Historian He took a long time finding lyrics and music from battlefields and civil war collections piecing the the songs together.

  • Great song from David Kincaid

  • Are you 100% sure its his? I don't know him but I got this song labeled as the Dubliners and well I know it can't be them.

  • hey ^^ wer bist du? :D ich bin da gitarrist von DDI

  • nice song !!!

  • Shame the lyrics are so off the music. Makes it hard to follow.

  • Ah a song from when Americans had something to there name that wasn't ascoiated with shame.

  • Irish music is really nice!

  • This song was written by Carl Funk and David Kincaid. It expresses a weariness of war, and a longing for peace. It is refreshing to see the song posted here and not being touted as an IRA anthem--which it was never intended to be. Zzahier--you are not correct. This is not the Dubliners. This version appears on a release by Mr. Kincaid called "The Irish Volunteer"--he is the one performing it here.

  • its not the Dubliners ... its David Kincaid.

  • Yeah this is a song about the Irish Brigade during the American Civil War

  • dont think thats the dubliners

  • i believe the artist is david kincaid. capt taggart fought in the united states cival war from pennsylvania

  • can anybody tell me the name of this artist please????

  • This is "Dubliners"

  • @zzahier no its not its david kancaid

  • @zzahier no it not its david kincaid

  • @zzahier This isn't the Dubliners, this is David Kincaid and its from his Union CD google it.

  • @zzahier WRONG

    David Kincaid.

  • @zzahier

No, this is David Kincaid from his Album "The Irish Volunteer"

  • @GiladPellaeon RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT

  • @zzahier Oh god you thing this is dubliners

SHIT ITS DAVE KINCAID KINCAID KINCAID THE FRONTMAN OF THE BRANDOS BRANDOS BRANDOS

  • @zzahier No, it's not The Dubliners who are singing.

    It is David Kincaid.

  • @zzahier No! Fail! David Kincaid, from the album, "The Irish Volunteer" released 1998. l

  • from collection Irish Rebel Song

  • @zzahier This particular rendition is from David Kincaid.

  • @WaroNo1 David kincaid

  • David Kincaid...it is actually an American artist singing about the Irish Brigade of the New York 69th....this does not detract however from the Irish roots that it sings about. Any Irish Republican will tell you an Ireland 'Free and Green' speaks specifically to Ireland free of British rule. This song while song from an American Civil War perspective still laments Irelands persecution and unlawful occupation from an English government whose history is nothing but terror and imperialism.

  • @WaroNo1 This is David Kincaid from his CD The Irish Volunteer Songs of the Irish Union Soldier 1861-1865

  • @WaroNo1 David Kincaid ALbum: Song from the irish brigade

  • lovely singing,I love the music too, really Irish sounding and full of soul.

  • The words dont keep up with the singing so its not possible to sing along.
