Stop progress. Yeah, we already have people like that. They are called nature lovers. Because taking a rock from the the sea would kill everyone, right? xD
H G Wells was schooled in science by Thomas Huxley (nicknamed Darwin's bulldog) grandfather of Aldous Huxley. another of his nicknames was 'Hal'. 2001 a space odyssey anyone?
Very impressive city. They were aiming for this in the 60's and 70's constructing concrete brutalist super structures. Merging multiple city blocks into large super block with Indoor shopping malls office buildings hotels and apartments all in one. But now people hate those buildings. They prefer shopping in a Disney looking lifestyle centers and Walmarts fronted by nothing but a large parking desert! The only mass planning is for cookie cutter neighborhoods and big box centers.Nothing downtwn
Marvelous how well they predicted today's enclosed shopping malls and convention centers. If you read the book, it goes even further into how much of these people's lives are spent indoors. There are definite advantages.
@ImagineHuZhou H.G. Wells borrowed the Space Gun from his predecessor, Jules Verne. By the time this picture was made, scientists knew it was an impractical idea. The only possible way to escape Earth's gravity and travel to the moon was via multi-stage rocket (as shown in Fritz Lang's movie "The Woman in the Moon," made seven years before this picture).
Ha ha, this movie predicted the flat panel TV. But they missed the mark on people in the furure wearing togas. I would rebel against wearing togas than the space gun.
you fools...this is not going to be a utopia for you!!!!!only the nwo globalist elites.....with perfect chipped workers...go read "the impact of science on society " by beryrand Russell.....
by the way Wells was a very high freemason --trying to warn us....
you're right except Wells wasn't trying to warn us. He was the 1 who said not enough of us had died in WW1; that we needed another war to stampede us into world govt. He coined the propagandist slogan of WW1: the war to end all wars. His book The Open Conspiracy is a recruitment drive as i read it; ALL about beauracrats/ politicos destroying the nation state from within. In the book of the above vid are "freemasons of the sky" spraying us just like they are today- chemtrails. HGW knew the Agenda
well i liked more than metropolis, because its a future where humankind finally start thinking straight, today there is not a single one movie where humans became smarter in the future, just a shame is it.
I don't think so. This is better than Metropolis cause it has the advantage of having sound bytes. But I do believe Metropolis is a wee bit better in terms of storyline. Plus, having a beautiful leading lady to booth!
is the space gun harrp?

They describe an electromagnetic rail gun! 好厉害!I think they would have plenty of volunteers to go to the Moon. ;)

At least Metropolis was openly dystopian, instead of this sugar-coated dystopia.

No, Metropolis will always be the king. This comes close, but Metropolis still takes the crown in that it inspired some elements of this movie.

Are you kidding? Metropolis inspired just about every sci-fi film since! :P
