I wish Christians and Atheists would just ignore each other. Stupid people on both sides feel like it's their duty to expose and ridicule the other for being "wrong." Dawkins, why don't you dedicate your time to a cause you can actually make an impact in? You're not going to make Christians convert just like you're not going to convert yourself. What a waste of brain power.
@TheSchoolWorld I'm pretty sure that figuring out our roots, how the Universe works, and generally just bettering Humanity are all quite important, and he, like any other sane person, is disgusted by the idea of everyone just throwing up their hands, proclaiming "GOD DID IT!" and then going about reinstating the Dark Ages. I think that's the message he, like any other Atheist, is trying to get out to people; just because you believe in something, doesn't make it true.
@TheCircusReject, I respect that, but what I don't respect is belittling people to get that point across. I'm supposed to take this guy seriously when he reads out personal emails for cheap laughs? This is supposed to be a highly educated and respected guy, but he's acting like a petty kid on myspace. How is just laughing at the people you're trying to sell your point of view to help in any way? This is the stuff that fuels the fire of hate and only makes the gap wider.
