@savinlovesyou I have 3 pet rats, only wild rats are diseased. I take my rats to the vet regularly they are very healthy. There is no bad health risks from bred rats. They are bred and raised by people not caught out in the wild.
@savinlovesyou I will agree that a wild rat is not one you should approach. However, we have rats at the museum, and they are some of the sweetest little mammals you can encounter. They love to be held, and show affection back. But I do agree, you should not approach a wild rat. And that is something we stress to anyone coming into the museum.
