Very good question. His game is at varsity level but I think he needed another year to mature mentally. He chose to stay down. There were no guarantees he would have started so all in all it was a good decision. Most kids would have jumped at the idea of playing varsity but he would rather play and start JV than possibly sit as a back up on the varsity squad.
