what the hell is up with the port engine at :19? Thats outright scary. Is the transom rubber? lol whatever, it wont happen to me as im not one for inflatables
Have a SACS 42 ft with triple 300's and out runs jet skis. Great setup. The three hundreds are two stroke. Too bad its too much weight for the RIB. Has a crack in the middle. Great setup otherwise.
nice, they make these like 500 meters from where i live. you can see them test driving these sometimes, they go like hell. finnish quality engineering.
The US made crap engines?? I'd love to see my Hemi Cuda up against your Norwegian - whatever, shitboxxx. What the hell kind of engines do they make in Norway anyway?
This isnt too bad but i was in a Pacific 28 today and got 50knots easily. Saying that, i also went in a slightly more faster boat as well. With 3 x 600hp engines on back.
These are 3 x 600hp in-boards. Not the Pacific 28's ones though. My post was meant to be cryptic as the boats i went on with the 600's on are not available for the general public!
Please advise as to the benefits of a rib? This thing is a water magnet. Whats the point of all that horsepower when parasitic drag is the cube of the speed?
look 17-20 secs in,, the outboard on the right, musthave hit something or throttle must have dropped a bit, i wouldnt want that happening on my boat! You think that drinks fuel!! search drug runner boat on google and there is a rib with 8, yes 8, yamaha 250's with a 20,000 litre fuel tank!! OMG
yeh saw that thats fuckin insane apparently in crosses the english channel 3 times a week and even the best british naval chopper couldnt keep up with it but its a 20m rib so its got a shit load of water line and power lol
This is a very cool boat and I imagine the three engines if for redundancy in rescue-mode, but check out my out my irb with a jet drive, goes fast in skinny water (shallow rivers) and eats big waves for lunch...cheers.
Well, acceleration with Verados is fine - probably the best in the industry. Especially 6I models were good once released, but the competitors are today quite nearing in performance figures. Absolutely the worst feature of Verados is enormous fuel consumption at high revs.
Yes, I think that's quite correct data. I also suppose Scarab can make 52 kn with half (?) fuel and couple persons onboard. C-1100 with 3x300hp setup can make the same speed with 18 persons & 1000 litres fuel...
I like Scarabs very much, but the fact is that Boomeranger is selling boats for NATO and norwegian coast guard and generally to people that can't choose the conditions. Just for the hell of it, where were Scarab's when Fountain broke the speed record for center console's? I think we will see F350´s in Boomeranger's soon if they show up to be trustworthy.
By the way, Yamaha guys just said that F350 is not designed for +50 kn speed class. Of course you can drive it faster, but gearbox & props start to loose efficiency after that. So, in certain installations we may have to wait for VMax version until full capability of the engine can be employed.
i guess thats why they make verados. its something like 6300 rpm and they weigh 200 pounds less than yamahas. And i guess thats when importance of props come in handy so they dont slip at high speeds
LOL, i would agree STUPID setup. Our 2008 Scarab 35 w/ twin F350 Yamaha's with only 700hp will get up faster and top end higher. Stupid cops, waste of taxpayer money.
1. Please report once you have a REAL fact to tell me, 350 hp Yams are not delivered yet, so it's up to your imagination what comes to Scarab performance.
2. Does your Scarab take 18 persons and full 1000 litres fuel & gear to 52 knot? All seated in own seat? If yes, congratulations.
3. How long is your hull warranty in day-to-day MILITARY use? Oh'...don't have it? Think why!
1. Yes you are INCORRECT. Both Hydrosport, Century and Contender boats HAVE some of their 07 models with the F350's ALREADY on them. Second is I work for Marine Dynamics, Inc. out of Florida (2nd largest Wellcraft dealer on the planet) and you are hillarious to tell me that I was NOT on the boat at the annual dealer meeting.
2. We sell pleasure boats, not military boats. So if you are currently in the military or was; I'm extremely sorry if my post hurt your feelings. Lmfao.
FIRSTif you look on the head title it is a military boat.......stupid... haha.
2nd grady whites are shiping boats with 350's they put them stock on there new 336 canyon which is a 33' center console as well as there express models.. slick
FIRST: you think I can comment specifically the use of RIBs I have driven? Don't even imagine. 2ND: What's the problem with 350s? They are shipped out NOW - we have a plenty of them also right here in Scandinavia. But, even in States, you don't have a REAL experience how they work or run.
what it must be like to live in a country with cheap petrol, I'm jealous. I can just about to afford to run my rib with twin 40's let alone all that hp
Thanks for you comment. One Optimax won't take Cap Camarat to 65 knots - I think 45+ is closer. Anyway, getting 3x300 hp RIB to run faster than 60 kn is easy. The problem is to do that every weather, day-to-day, day and night. Boomeranger, ZHT and Halmatic are military RIBs and built for daily prosessional use. Lighter pleasure RIBs are another story...55 knots for a military spec vessel is quite good, you can't compare pure speed figures.
Huh ! I was watching vidéos, and now I'm watching that i've already comment this one ! But like you say, i've done a mistake, it's 55 knots, not 65 !!!
And of course your boat isn't for speed, i was stupid on this point ;-)

The middle outboard is lower so that the outdrive is below the bottom of the boat. Because the bottom of the the boat is in the shape of a V

Useless 2000+ lbs of outboards on the back. $500 says it'd go faster rigged with twins, but it would burn enough fuel for the government.
