  • you could have just ran a relay on the power feed to the inverter and left the inverter switched on

  • @MegaDyte i could done that. But eventually he would upgrade to a car amplifier and I didn't want the relay hanging outside either behind the radio in the dash (which had no space) or the trunk (where it could hit hit and knocked around) so i decided to modify the inverter. I have fun doing it.

But eventually he would upgrade to a car amplifier and I didn't want the relay hanging outside either behind the radio in the dash (which had no space) or the trunk (where it could hit hit and knocked around) so i decided to modify the inverter internally in another video you'll see.

  • Well, I had a customer who didn't want to spend to correct amount of money for a automotive sub-woofer system. He brought his home theater sub with built in amp. I did all the normal running of the wires. But his home theater ran on 120V rather than on 12V like normal car audio equipment. So he purchased an inverter and i modified it to activate when the radio turned. The inverter originally had a toggle switch. I put in a relay in the place of the switch to make the process automated.

  • what is the purpose of the relay?
