man i finished this game around it's released (in 2003 ) and now with my new computer , i totally discover it again with a new eye. It's amazing what the game became with the Morrowind Graphic Extender, and it works perfectly well. I took over 5 years , but thx to the ppl/fans who's been working on it

You can have a top of the range "Crysis Killer" PC and you will be getting serious FPS hits at full settings, it is because the Morrowind engine is old and pretty crap.

nah you just need to be able to run oblivion with MGE 3.8 3.3 was realy laggy though, im runnin 3.8 with all the goodies turned on and view distance on land and statics high enough settings to see everything from anywhere and with about 30-40 fps average also using visual texture pack 3.0 too with a quad core 4 gig ram and 2x 260 GTX's in SLI so no.. a crysis killer PC easily runs it, maybe you tried an old version of MGE

Damn, and I just deleted morrowind because of its graphics. If I just new about these upgrades. Better find that CD quickly again because I can't wait to upgrade it.

Where do you actualy find all the mods and upgrads for this game. And is there a mod where the poeple get some graphics upgrade because I didn't stand their owful walking and facial graphics. ( I got too used with todays graphics :) ).

Believe me, with all the proper mods and patches, the game looks almost next-gen.

Be sure to download Morrowind Graphic Extender so you can use shaders, such as HDR.

And also, Visual Pack + Creatures Retexture

those are the basic, there are many more.

My comp can run MGE with most of its settings but not the beautiful reflective waters, which made me sad and uninstall it :P

I have tried over a dozen ways to use Distant LAnd (which is the only way to get the above reflective water and the best I have managed is murky see through water with nothing even approaching vanilla water even with reflective water switched on!

MGE is not buggy, you need a decent card. With me a Geforce 8600 OC gets an average of 35 fps with distant land and high settings and reflective water and the visual pack and still takes FPS hits occasionally.

When I use this or even if I have it installed,when I start up morrowind it is like a mess of textures everywhere. Why is this?

hmm... have you tried just using one card? sli might not work well with older games such as this. im going to tell you to update your drivers even though its probably been told to you everywhere... turn off AA and AF and see if it works i guess

Is there a mod or something for Morrowind that can increase graphics quality but for low-end cards (like GeForce FX5200)? I don't need the infinite view distance or HDR stuff. The game is old and I think my card can deal with some graphics optimization..

For MGE needs new video cards and high ram stuff, I have two computers and cant install MGE in the old one (512 RAM GeForce MX)It only works in the new one.
