@DrummerLordProdigy depending on whether or not you want to record multiple instrument tracks, you'll need an interface and a program to handle the task. you can of course record a single mic input. that is sometimes all that is needed for recording.

what do i need to have mics on my kit...i know i need mics but can i just buy a mixer that has ports for the mic cables and the mixer i found has an amp in it so could i just use what i described and it will work or if not what else to i need. i dont want to record the music to my computer just want my drums to sound good for my own special reasons....just to jam with my friends.. thanks
Yes, get a mixer, mics, cables and stands. You can get a small, simple mixer for little money.
p.s.
If you just want to have fun, maybe start with sm57's for the kick, snare and one for the overhead. Mic stands will add up if you get 7 or 8, so maybe start small. That's fun anyway, trying to get an interesting sound with minimal mics and clever placement.
