Amazing movie. The reason it looks rubbish is because people forget these days that films are about stories and not about If its going to be in 3D or not. I wish they would stop releasing bog standard mind melting with boredom films. I hope i can travel back to 1990 so i can see something fucking decent in the cinema!!!!!!!!!!!!
@simpson1783 I agree! and you can travel man =) by watching movies from those times. These days I only watch movies from atleast 10-15 years ago. The new ones just dont have good stories, I get bored after about 20 mins.. Effects are sometimes cool yeah..but without the story it is worthless.
@simpson1783 honestly man, I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who realizes that for the past 2 to 3 years or so, almost every movie has been forgotten about within a month of its end from playing in theatres. People dont want good movies...they just want over-priced snacks ang endless gimmicks
@simpson1783 My friend recently discovered an old photo of him and his brother from the mid 90's. It was taken at the movie theater with the "Now Showing" sign visible in the background. See if you remember any of these titles:
When i first saw this as a kid i thought it was the worst movie ever.. When i watched it again as a teenager i felt like spanking every kid in the world for not liking this. Now as an adult i`m drunk on my spare time so .. fuck it.
@Nexcrome I couldent agree with your more. Movies arnt stories any more there how much special effects 3D shit can we cram into 2:30 hours. ive ran out of good films to because newly realesed films are FUCKING SHIT.
this is good, everyone Bruce, Bratt, Madeleine, Plummer everyone was so good, and the history is the most amazing, I loved this movie, then I realized this was my type of movie, the apocalictics type of movie, totally recomend this one
Brilliant film. I like the old tramp in it who tells him that he's "sure f*cked up bub". The film never really makes out who is is. Is he part of Cole's (anyone else notice his character shares the same first name with Haiey Joel Osment in the Sixth Sense) imagination, or is he part of the time travel programme, or is he a manifestation of something else (like God or the Devil). Who know's. It is brilliant that the film doesn't try and explain it. Terry Gilliam is superb at giving these moments,
you see this character twice in the movie, or at least the guy who places his voice; both in the year 1997 one week from each other. The first time, he does recognize Cole and shows how he pulled out the tooth. The second time he denies to the psychiatrist that he knows what shes talking about.
The disembodied voice appears three times in the movie, twice in the future (when Cole is in the cell and right after he returns),once in 1997 at airport
@johnthekeys so to continue my explanation. The first time he appears is in the future where he says he "may be a prisoner in the next cell" I believe this to be the correct explanation. The second time Dr. Railly sees him, he has never been sent back in time, and is baffled at here words about the future. He survives the plague to the future, where he talks to Cole from the next room. Then he is sent back to the past where he meets Cole and Dr. Railly for their first time.
@johnthekeys Finally the hardest part for me to explain is how Cole hears the vagrants voice at the airport and telling him to fool the scientists after his second return to 2035. These could either be true examples of Cole's developing or inherent psychosis from his childhood trauma of seeing himself shot. The whole movie throws the idea of causality out the window since Cole both technically starts the plague and finds its cure; anything is really possible.
Now, I found this DVD as I was clearing out my son Chadwich's old room. I initially cast it aside, but once I saw that Bradley Pitt was in it, OH MY! I remember seeing him in that bodice ripper Legendary Falls! He was more of a stallion that the steed he rode so stoically! So I watched. Hubby Herbie was away & I had a glass of sherry! What could go wrong? I was appalled when I was visually assaulted by my dear Bradly as some twitchy eyed freak! Even Deuce Williams was dishier here! What a waste!
Brad Pitt's Best Performances: (These films are in no particular order, but show his true versatility) 12 Monkeys (1995) The Curious Case Benjamin Button (2008) Moneyball (2011) Seven (1995) Inglourious Basterds (2009) The Tree of Life (2011) Fight Club (1999) Snatch (2000) Babel (2006) The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
This whole movie is a Subliminal Message....There is Tyler Durden....Why is there Tyler Durd.....The first rule of Project Mayhem: You do not ask questions
great movie one of the best 5 ever made in the past, present, and so must find Cole in the future and ask if there will be anything better than this one :)
