  • that thyratron contains mercury. heated at that temperature it all went to vapors. you've just poisoned yourself and shorten your life. congrats

  • Hope you were far away while this was going on. Mercury vapor is highly toxic

  • you've just released a few miligrams of mercury into the environment . Hope something useful comes out of this. (or not!)

  • MICROWAVE AMIR

  • Ahh yea the ubiquitous 5559 Mercury Vapor Thyratron. Yes indeed I see these common household items every day and use a pair of them mounted on the wall for dimming the kitchen counter lights because they are generously rated for 1000 Volts @ 2.5 Amps with a 15A peak current rating, ensuring they are mostly immune to those pesky EMPs, regularly occurring short circuits, and random lightning strikes that destroy cheap solid state dimmers. They are as tough outside the microwave as inside.

  • It's interesting how the black bar appears on the camera... I suspect that it is to do with the pulsing of the light at a high frequency. Also, pretty colours.

  • Amperex. . . quality product. It just kept giving :)

  • As always, I enjoy these videos!

  • WoW, Awesome Plasma Effects!

  • Cool

  • OMG it looks like a metal halide bulb. HamRadio's are wonderful for containing these. Hook it up to a HID ballast and there you go!

    @1:40 Microwave Music

    @1:50 & beyond: PLASMA NATION!

    @3:16 FLARE of PLASMA!

The lasting plasma ghosts went to microwave heaven :D

  • This one, was one best ever

  • Wow thats just amazing :D

  • wow my dad was a ham radio operator, i might be able to find a old radio set with more of those things to send and some old telephone equipment

  • That was amazing. I did some research on the tube and it appears to be for old Ham radio sets/ Although, this was far more amazing than a radio broadcast!

  • Great.

  • ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, THE ENTIRE THING! Spectacular show!

  • Wow dude that was badass.

  • So, what does it actually do? To me it just looks like an incredibly weird lightbulb.

  • GOOGLE IT.

  • Awesome spectacle! Blue glow followed by plasma balls followed by fire and then more plasma balls: it couldn't be more perfect!

    Microwave rating: 10/10

  • Not to be rude, but when are we going to see that MALIK 11000 robot?

  • Don't worry Crazy56U, you are not being rude. The MALIK 11000 is very complex. Give it time. Meanwhile enjoy the AMIR 9000. He has been a great microwaving friend to us all.

  • I'd like to see what the temp inside the microwave chamber gets up to when you get all that plasma. Any chance of attaching a thermometer to the outside of the microwave?

  • NO SLUG WTF MAN!

  • Don't worry calebiskkkool. Rest assured there is a slug in the Wed episode.

  • @dovetastic I have another concept: a high pressure sodium bulb

  • This was one of the best yet! The thyratron out lasted the Amir 9000.

However; was it triode, tetrode or pentode thyratron? I also wonder what if would be like to do two at once?

  • Love the plasma floating to the top!

  • lol me to they look like small ghosts or something just floating up like they were trapped in the bulb

  • plasma <3

  • no shit i knw that with only 27 years of work with radiation, waves such as microwave, and biochemical and nuclear warfare expirementing

  • How would The Professional Microwave Operator like to receive a grinder to microwave?

  • an angle grinder, that is :P

That should do some aweeome thing in the amir:P

  • Just send it. He'll like it. I'm sure there's no need to ask.

  • Please do send it MrTruckdriver09. The AMIR 9000 won't stop asking me when it's going to do chain saw, grinder and a pair of ice skates. I have to keep telling the one ton microwaving robot it will get these soon. There is some days I am microwaving for fourteen hours non-stop in which I love my profession. Keep sending the donations everyone! Thanks!

  • kenny , i am working on the chain saw, lookin to get a 80's model with a magnesium motor :P

  • i could send some bio-chemical waste but i am sure of it that it would be illegal to both send or transport it to a non licenced person and anyway it would be bad to see the hazmat crews cleaning the near ohhh 100 yards oh so away +++

  • may i ask... whats with the voice at the start? (non pitched)

  • That's his voice... Der... doesn't everyone have one? ha...

  • Mercury vapor thyratrons can produce x-ray radiation. Look for three eyed birds in your area in the near future. :)

  • carsonky, don't forget about the 3 eyed fish & homer simpson too :P p.s. homer simpson is going to cause a nuke accident in dovetastic's microwave ,i sent homer simpson :P

  • AWESOME!!! but where's the Tyrathronslug?

  • MrTruckdriver09, because it fell apart.

  • kenny, it does sound" EXTRA CRISPY" from @2:33~ 5:58 :P

  • Wow this was the best microwave viewing pleasure ever - 5 stars : )

  • whats a Amperex 5559 Thyratron

  • a ampere x5559 is a meen green microwave killing machine,it worked perfect inside with wicked plasma :P

  • Microwave an H1N1 vaccin

  • TO short in supplys to give it to some guy with a microwave. :P

  • grab it from the doctor at a clinic? Pocket it, send it. LOL jk

  • OH YES, DO IT!!! Those vaccines contain mercury, they KILL KILL KILL. AVOID the vaccine, microwave it instead :)

  • so dose fish.

  • Absolutely no one has died from that vaccine. You are stupid and I hope you realize that there is mercury in the air you breath as well - it just isn't in a high enough dosage to effect you. Same thing with the vaccine - the mercury is present, but not potent enough to hurt you.

Why would people make a vaccine that KILLS people? Where did you make the logic jump from "doctors" to "nazis"?

  • @vagitoe

Without even reffering to the comment you are replying to, I assume you are talking about the swine flu vaccine.

There have actually been more than 12 confirmed deaths as a direct result of it.

    Get your facts right

  • There have been 14,286 deaths world wide from the Swine flu. Those deaths you are talking about were allergic reactions to the egg white that is in the vaccine. I think the numbers speak for themselves.

Oh, and by the way, 450 people died from taking Tylenol last year.

  • @vagitoe

Hundreds of thousands of people die each year from the normal flu.

    Numbers speak for themselfes.

Swine flu also appeared from no where and became a pandemic within a weak, with less that 40 known cases world wide.

Money making facts speak for themselves.

  • Wait... so what is your point? I thought I knew but now I am not so sure...

  • @vagitoe

I was just making a point in that the WHO classed swine flew as a full blown health pandemic and ordered the vaccinations of, well everyone possible, when there is no imposing threat to the general population. End of the day, swine flu is nothing to worry about. I travel the London subway system every day and I see people sniffing and sneezing all the time, but I don't see people pull the emergency break and dart out the nearest exit at the site of it.

    £1.50x90,000,000+ people

  • Actually, the WHO reacts this way to EVERY new, contagious disease. They over-react because disease is a very serious issue that should never be underestimated.

However, the WHO is a non-profit organisation, so they aren't going to make any money off of the vaccinations. You make it sound like there is some kind of conspiracy - really, people were just afraid that we had another Spanish Flu on our hands.

'Course, with our modern hygiene, disease isn't ass dangerous as it was back then.

  • I think i might donate a old gas powered RC car soon

  • omg it looks like its shooting electric flame balls! They need to invent a gun that does this

  • I for one don't know what the device you're microwaving is, but I'm going to guess it's some sort of vacuum tube, correct? And yes Daewooparts, it really is playing absolute havoc with the camera, the microwave energy must be interfering with the camera's systems.

  • looks like a litte dead alien at the end

  • At least the microwaves is converted into light mood, he was put to bed and we relax. lol.

  • awsome best 1 yet

  • WOW

  • That was rather awesome.

  • this rocked big time

i wonder what gas or a hard drive would do in the 1 ton Microwaving robot

  • he microwaved a HDD before. I did, it gets VERY hot.

  • Ok, Now that thing kicked ass!

  • "PLASMA CITY" with this nuking :P

  • l.o.l. thats fuckin up the camera bigtime, lean green microwaving machine !
