There's a nice Muslim guy family who live 2 doors away from my house, what is this worldwide crime which has been committed that is the shared guilt of all Muslims including my neighbour? I must have missed it.

Your nice "friend" accepts that islam commands your death. Your "friend" has no problem with these words;

I know what the Quran says, and I know what Muhammad did in his life too.
However, that doesn't mean that my neighbour knows. In fact many people I know who I talk to are ignorant to a LOT of things about their religion.
Does that mean they deserve to die? No! Just it mean that YOU are justified in celebrating the deaths of innocent people? No.
What is unquestionable is that many of the dead were children, children form their own religion views LATER in life and not as a child.

No, muslims know exactly what the koran says and they accept it all, including the parts about killing non-muslims.

1: Most Muslims cannot read.
2: The small percent that can read cannot read Arabic.
3: The small percent of those are not Islamic scholars.
So what's my point? They believe whatever they are told to believe. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.
