  • @bubzzc0la01 their kata

  • This is Kanku-dai kata :)

  • I could tell who was going to win by the first movement

  • They should have gone to specsavers

  • @AshrafEissa1 oh well, even black belts can do lower katas ;)

  • @AshrafEissa1 haha yeh, i was a bit annoyed because someone told somebody else it was heian yondan or something xD i had to clarify and tell them that that was wrong :P

  • @AshrafEissa1 aah, yeh, you're right, i agree, for people who can't see the "little" things in a kata or who don't know karate that well, that might be the only reason. :) cheers dude.

  • @AshrafEissa1 she didn't just win because of that, there were many more reasons when you look at how they both executed the kata, their hara, their kime, the grade of difficulty of the techniques etc. etc. they are both good, but aka was definitely better.

  • @AshrafEissa1 i havent heard about it

  • what kata is that?

  • I think these chicks are blind... theyre totally missing eachother

  • Comment removed

  • @Hunkstrum Lol...

  • THIS IS NOT KARATE! A warning from a JKA life member: I spent a long time training and teaching this activity. Because of many contradictions I saw and heard, I began a study of karate from it’s beginning; what it really is, why it was developed, how it was taught, what it’s general syllabus was. The JKA is a shell, they have eliminated much of original karate and have invalidated it as a martial art. Read comments my site, the truth is obvious through study if you are willing to see it.

  • @IEKUKATAKA - JKA is a joke

  • We need to discard the Kata movements and start focusing on actual technique. And don't start with this "Kata creates the base for future techniques" because it is played out. Machida Karate is the raw, dirty part of Shotokan which requires hard work but - but schools would rather have flash than heart.

Machida knows Kata but that isn't winning him anything in the UFC - what got him the belt was a solid MMA base with an exceptional Shotokan background specifically groomed for real fights.

  • @pbrlimit - There are actually plenty of Karate that have discarded Kata as useless ... same with chambering the arms at waste level, kiai's, etc. For instance if you click my name and scroll down to the video "what is kudo" you will see a video of one such art. It also included head punches, groin attacks, grappling, etc as legal in full contact competition to make it even more realistic.

  • @pbrlimit kata is actual technique man. its just that none understand timing and direct and purpose full strikes. those inside fore arm blocks are strikes. ever been struck in the radii. it is numbing. sharp from kicks. edge of knife hand attack to the kicks being thrown. oooooo, whats that smell? its this form because it is the shiznit.

  • @pbrlimit I used to think the same thing, but now I'm more convinced that kata helps you in the first years, while getting into the martial art... I started out with muay thai, then slowly moved towards kumite and the speed I have now is much better than how I used to be when kick boxing

  • @pbrlimit karate is kata, kata is the base for all karate kata improves kumte. Think i'm crazy, ask boxers why they shadow box, it's thee same thing, kata gives the karate a way to practice the actual techniques and move dynamically. One thing we must never forget is that karate is not a ring sport and by focusing on that aspect will do nothing but harm.

  • I thought that both girls did a good job however, the girl on our right and the judges left was faster and more articulate.

    Good video, thanks.

  • Girl to the right was clearly better.

If you look where the girl to the left started and then ended the kate its not even on the same spot. Girl to the right ended where she started.

  • the only thing i don't like about traditional martial arts these days are they only concentrate on katas and competitions. and no freestyle sparring.

its like a boxer who shadow boxes, hits the bag, speed bag ect. but no sparring

i love katas though it teaches you to sharpen up your form

  • @kenseisato1989 that is so not true. i do traditional shotokan karate and in our dojo we practice both equally. of course, you have pupils who are better at katas and others are better at kumite, but they all have to practice both - their kata and their kumite skills.

  • @Maryangel24

i meant to say when they sparr they only do point sparring. a lot of the strikes they do in competition is horrible, at least in the majority of copetition

  • 44excalibur & Masoukishin It would seem the both of you have lost the way of Karate with the child like arguments going on in forums. I emplore you both to read Essence of Karate and the 20 guiding principles by Funakoshi. maybe then you guys can find peace

  • im a shotokan but stf what is that kata???

    sry for my bad eng

  • @imsoren12321 It is Kanku Dai

  • They make Kusanku Dai look short lol

  • uhm.. im dont know anything about shotokan karate.. so im just asking.. how is this a fight? or.. how is those two against eachother?

  • @JFFjustforfun this is not a "fight" as in sparring. they're both performing the same kata (kanku dai) and the one who executes the kata "better" (the judges have to take into account many many things) wins.

  • @Maryangel24 ooooh, ty :P

  • @JFFjustforfun no worries :)

  • Why the fuck do they not fight each other! :) I want to see them fighting each other, I want to see blood!

  • why arent they fighting eachother to the death? disapointed...

  • the kata is named Kanku dai and is from shotokan karate (:

  • nice kime aka.. but the blue belt is so tall for that..

  • Lol..i'm actually just learning this kata :) Although i'm not NEARLY as good as these people..XD

  • Because I'm a man, all these women who have trained hard will not be able to even hurt me. I will overpower them with testosterone and throw them into the nearest kitchen.

  • @umarA14 You're just a jerk.

  • @kitten4751 your just a woman.

  • @umarA14 Oh really? And how many years have YOU been studying martial arts, hmm?

  • @umarA14 Nobody gives a crap if your a "man" or not. All that everybody here knows is that these women would kick your ass if they saw your comment.

  • which kata is that on the left? at the beginning it looks like heian nidan

  • @boogieman221thx I'm not completely sure but it might be heian yo dan

  • @kitten4751 it's kanku dai

  • @boogieman221thx they're both doing the same kata, kanku dai.

  • Hey blondey, you rushed it. Live your Kata, Enjoy it, Focus speed and power on your techniques, not the speed in which you can finish and bow off the matt.

  • no kime

  • oss and respect to both, but the red one had more chi and was a little better...

  • i thought there was contact fighting in shotokan...

  • karate already lost to kung fu... what more do you wanna show...

  • @Masoukishin

Karate is a branch of Kung-Fu.

  • @knarfslice lol no it's not, they're two totally different martial arts

karate is japanese, kung fu is chinese

  • @knarfslice ........who told you that? Japan invented Karate... chinese invented Kung fu.... Please man dont embarass yourself by stating a fact that is false

  • @Masoukishin Karate was invented in Okinawa formally known as the Ryukyu Kingdom..Karate reached Japan in 1917 when Gichin Funakoshi brought it to Japanese Schools. Karate is a Combination of Shaolin Kung Fu and Okinawan Te' traceable from Okinawan Samurai Peichin Takahara 1683 to Soken Matsumura(Okinawa) and Bodhidharma(India) approx 570 AD China...28th patriarch of Zen Buddhism.

  • @nandansho LOL dude dont get them mixed up... zen buddhism is japanese buddhism. Hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha please sir just give up... it aint a mixture. Please no more i cant stop laughing.... Japan has always been trying to get something to go against kung fu..... it has nothing to do with kung fu bro. karate is totally diff

  • @Masoukishin You are obviously no martial Artist Bodhidharma is known as The Father of Zen Buddhism. He was an Indian Monk who trained Monks in the Shaolin temples.570 AD Buddhism advocates No Killing anything..going back to the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama.. Buddhist monks learned Tai Chi as a non violent way to defeat attackers. The Samurai of Japan adopted the "Mushin" aspects of Buddhism to have a clear mind in combat. Japanese NEVER invented ZEN Buddhism East Indians did. Troll ..look it up.

  • @nandansho great another piece of junk u came up with. Tai chi is made for exercising... it is not made to fight... Well bro get back to the first subject. Karate and kung fu aint the same. DURRRRRRRRRR and thanks for proving my point. East indians cant fight... all they do is yoga.

  • @Masoukishin Actually, Tai Chi Chuan means "Supreme Ultimate Fist" and it was made for fighting. Just because most people only see elderly folks practicing Tai Chi forms for exercise doesn't mean that is the whole of the art. Tai Chi is an internal martial art, much like Aikijujutsu, and if you do some checking you will find it has combat applications that are used by many practitioners of the Chinese martial arts. And Karate came from Kung Fu, as the word Karate originally meant "China Hand."

  • @nandansho Karate was invented by the bodyguards of the King of Okinawa any more talk of zen monks?

  • @Masoukishin Karate began as a common fighting system known as "te" among the Pechin class of the Japanese Ryukyu islands. In 1372, some forms of Chinese Kung Fu were introduced by visitors from China, particularly the Fujian Province, as part of a cultural exchange. When weapons were banned in Okinawa after the invasion of the Shimazu clan in 1609, the development of unarmed combat techniques increased. Matsumura Sōkon established the first style of Karate called Shorin Ryu(Shaolin Style).

  • @Masoukishin The Japanese did not invent Karate. Karate was invented by the Okinawans. It did not come to Japan until Gichin Funakoshi brought Shotokan to Japan in the 1930's. Goju Ryu was the first style of Karate officially recognized as Budo in Japan in 1933. Goju Ryu creator Chojun Miyagi studied Chinese Kung Fu, particularly Tiger-Crane, and combined it with Naha-te to create Goju Ryu Karate. Japan's indigenous fighting style was Jujutsu, which can be traced back to Chinese Chin Na.

  • @44excalibur i just had to read the first line and you stupid as fk already LOL okinawa is in japan? Fkin dumbshit LOL hahahahahahah imma stop there. No point in listening to you. Too damn stupid!!!!

  • @Masoukishin The only stupid one here is the dumb British guy flipping around the nunchaku on his channel. I proved you wrong on every point you made, and all of my facts are accurate. Okinawa is part of the Ryuku Kingdom, and had a tributary relationship with the Chinese Empire beginning in the 15th century. In 1609 the Satsuma clan, which controlled the region that is now Kagoshima Prefecture, invaded the Ryūkyū Kingdom. It wasn't until 1872 that Japan annexed the kingdom.

  • @Masoukishin Ryuku Han became the Okinawa Prefecture of Japan in 1879, AFTER Karate had already been develpoed there in the 1820's. I also noticed that you had nothing to say about the other points I made that proved you wrong. You just decided to throw insults around which is the first sign of someone who knows they are on the losing end of an arguement. If you have any facts to back you up then you can make an arguement. If not, just shut up and listen to the lame-ass song you uploaded, moron.

  • @44excalibur okay bro... Ryuku Han... what race is he? if u answer japanese then u better shove your answers up your butt cause i've already made my point. Idiot...

  • @Masoukishin Did you say, "Ryuku Han... what race is he?" Okay, a "han" is not a "he" nor is it a race. "Han" means "domains" which is nothing more than the lands owned by the feudal lords. The Ryuku kingdom remained free until the 1868 Meiji Restoration, when Japan annexed the kingdom and renamed it Ryuku han, which later became known as Okinawa Prefecture of Japan in 1879. Before that, the Ryuku kingdom was a tributary nation of China under the Qing Dynasty. Who's the idiot?

  • @44excalibur you fucking moron how stupid can you fucking get... china had many kingdoms and so just because they werent one back then doesnt make them diff from being japanese. Stupid ass. Go suck dick and die you moron. How stupid can you get... So you're white and your confederate... the north didnt kick your ass yet. U made yourself the cotton jin. Then after that when your dumbass got annexed who made the cotton jin? The fucking white guy. Go learn to process shit in the head. Moron

  • @Masoukishin Sorry, moron! Okinawa didn't become part of Japan until the late 1800's, and it wasn't even called Okinawa before that. And geographically, Okinawa is closer to Taiwan then it is to Japan. By the way, I'm from the northeast USA, not the south. The man who invented the cotton gin, Eli Whitney, was from Massachusetts and not the south, you idiot! You really don't have a clue, do you? I really doubt you can kick anyone's ass, since you troll around youtube making an ass of yourself.

  • @44excalibur LOL idiot... so a japanese guy invents something outside of japan and so its not considered japanese? How fking stupid are you? just give up i'd kick your ass in a second.

  • @Masoukishin What Japanese guy? Do you even know what you're talking about? How many times do you have to make a fool of yourself? You made a bunch of false statements and you've already been proven wrong 10 times over. And if you wanna act tough, don't post a vid of your lard-ass self trying to flip nunchaku on your channel and say you're gonna kick someone's ass. I'm the one who can read, spell, do research and get his facts right. The only stupid one here is you, nunchuck boy!

  • @Masoukishin And if your analogy is to Eli Whitney, then you're dumber than I thought you were. Eli Whitney wasn't a southerner who invented the cotton gin in Massachusettes or somewhere else, he was BORN in Massachusettes and went on to invent the cotton gin. He never was from the south, moron! My god, how dumb can you get?

  • @44excalibur alright my bad on the analogy but what i was trying to say is correct... stop claiming crap you dont know about.

  • @Masoukishin Why don't you stop claiming crap you don't know about just becasue you are embarrased that you made a complete ass of yourself! Name one fact I stated that was incorrect! You can't, because there are none! Fact: Okinawa did not officially become part of Japan until after 1886. Fact: Karate had been deveoped by Okinawans in the 1820's. Fact: Karate is Okinawan for "China Hand," indicating its Chinese influence from Kung Fu, combined with Okinawan Shuri Te, Naha Te, And Tomari Te.

  • @Masoukishin Fact: Shotokan was the first style of Karate developed in Japan in the 1930's by an Okinawan named Gichin Funakoshi, who combined Okinawan Shorin Ryu and Shorei Ryu with Japanese Jujutsu. Fact: Jujutsu evolved from Chinese Chin Na grappling techniques. Fact: Japan did not officially recognize Karate as Budo until 1933, with the reconition of Goju Ryu, developed by Okinawan Chojun Miyagi, combining Naha Te and 5-animal Kung Fu styles such as Tiger/Crane. Facts, dumbass!

  • @44excalibur yet japan invented it... so you're saying they made it but didnt claim it till later? THE HECK IS THAT? adurrrrrrrrr either way you still owned yourself on that one. Idiot....

  • @Masoukishin Japan invented what? Again, do you even know what the hell you're talking about? You're so pathologically stupid and unable to admit you lost the argument that you'll make up stupid crap that makes no sense just so you'll have something to say. The Japanese invented Jujutsu, and yet even that can be traced back to Chinese Chin Na, just as the Okinawans invented Karate, but it can be traced back to Shaolin Kung Fu. Google it if you want, and then stop embarrasing yourself, moron!

  • @44excalibur oh i guess you're not on the right track then huh? wtheck have we been talking about... Stop being in denial. You're so damn stupid

  • @Masoukishin Once again, you make an idiotic statement that makes no sense because you have no arguement to make and just need an excuse to talk. Sounds like you're the one in denial. Everything I've said is factual and a matter of public record, and if you weren't such a lazy-ass you'd look it up for yourself and see. The only "damn stupid" one here is you, seeing as how you can't even come up with a valid agrument. I'm the one who did his research. You have no facts, and your spelling sucks.

  • @44excalibur havnt been on dummy so i couldnt reply much. Okinawans invented this so now its not japans invention? DURRRRRRRR dont make sense does it.

  • @Masoukishin Yes it does when you consider that the Okinawans were a conquered and occupied people that were subjugated by Japan. They learned Chinese Kung Fu and combined it with their own styles of Shuri-te, Naha-te, and Tomari-te, and from that came Karate, which came to Japan later. I sent you all of this information to your inbox, along with the brief history of Okinawa. If it still doesn't make sense to you, then perhaps you should do your own research instead of constantly coming here.

  • @44excalibur some idiot comic nerd thinks he knows history... lame....

  • @Masoukishin Apparently the comic nerd does his research better than the nunchaku nerd from the UK who favorites and uploads retarded songs on his channel and lists "Hell" as his hometown in some lame-ass attempt to look like a bad-ass. Go back to flipping your nunchucks, dude.

  • @44excalibur oh hey i can still kick your ass so just give up and read some fking books instead of reading your dumbass dream world comics. Get a life. meet some friends and learn how to be smart. Please move out of your moms basement too.

  • @Masoukishin HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Awww, poor nunchacku boy made an idiot of himself and now he has to resort to lame insults for a comeback because he has no argument and was proven wrong, as well as being proven a dumbass. And I do read books, which is how I know to do research and get my facts straight, unlike illiterate morons like you who don't even know how to spell or type. Go back to playing with your nunchucks, or whatever the hell else you like to wrap your hand around, loser! :P

  • Is that Kelsey Cameron on the left, from canada, out of the New Brunswick Shodokan Karate Group??

  • lol

  • any one who says bullshit or waste of time, doesn't know anything about that kata, or even shotokan.. :)

  • @DrKillaser - I guess its like shadow boxing but competitive shadow boxing. Shadow boxing is important to boxer, Thai practitioners, etc.. So I guess Kata would be important to karate practitioners.

  • @DrKillaser - I guess its like shadow boxing but competitive shadow boxing. Shadow boxing is important to boxer, Thai practitioners, etc.. So I guess Kata would be important to karate practitioners.

  • @DrKillaser you are probably right people think karate is stupid and doesnt teach you anything but if they were told to spar with one of these people they wouldnt stand a chance

  • @DrKillaser - naw, you're just a moron

  • @spamllpitdept okay.... man.. this my comment is 10 months old.... i really just don't care about it.. :)

    peace

  • it is Kunku Dai kate, isn't it?

  • @DrKillaser yes

  • bit of kenku dyi

  • every kata competitor should be forced to do kumite and vice versa. Otherwise the sport loses its credibility. Oh sorry, it lost it a long time ago. This dancing on ice bullshit

  • @DunxMeister lol it's a shame that people are still ignorant. You clearly have NO idea of the value of consistent kata practice, and i'm not going to even waste my time explaining it to you. I'm simply going to rest easy in the fact that there's 1 more dumbass in this world who's lost his way in the media shit storm.

  • @bloodriotiori lol I don't even remember what I said it was that long ago! I was succesfull on the England KUGB kata and kumite squad for 7 years, I understand the game and I am qualified to comment.

  • right decision, because tecnicly red is better

  • this is bullshit

  • nice

  • very nice, respect!

  • Easy

  • hahahaha i bet you couldnt even do the first kata right

  • lol if u dont do it then how is it easy ?+?

  • Kunku Dai da atleta shiro é feio demais :XXX~

  • Superb Kanku DaiI prefer Jion Meself... But, I Digress :P

  • ahahahahahahahahah but i digress aHAHAHAHAHAH NICE!

  • i love jion, but kanku dai is a GREAT traditional tournament kata

  • Bull shit!

  • Veeery good :)

  • kankudai

    /watch?v=wVWECqMm0-4

  • what kata is that???

  • Kanku Dai

  • The black hair one is better! She finished right on~

  • nice katas both of em.....very well done. the only concern i had was starting and ending points should be the same. i think thats why the person on the left won, as she ws closer to starting point at end of kata.

  • ta bonito

  • kata kanku dai

  • one of the left kinda has slow head movement. I mean not super slow, but seems a bit behind her fists. And not all the time, but still something judges look at.

  • For me, Kankudai is the best Shotokan kata :-) Maybe because it was the first advanced kata I learnt from my sensei in my childhood. Very impressive competition.

  • It is not the same world championship pairs kata, very choreographed by the girls who are, well done video girls have worked hard ... the title (0)

  • Kanku Dai

  • dude how quick are these karatekas !

  • Dang Shotokan katas are long. Both of these women did very well.

  • it's the longest as far as I know :3

  • Actually, the longest official Shotokan Kata is Hyakuhachiho. Over 100 moves compared to 65 for Kankudai. I never knew about it until I was a training here in Los Angles a good 17 years into karate and that was well over 10 years ago. There are two YouTube postings demonstrating the Hyakuhachiho. Just search it. One by a JKA sensei in competition in Japan and another by an American on the East Coast. I prefer the American's version and he was the one who I saw first demonstrate it.

  • Hyakuhachiho is already official :)? That's good news I think ^^! I really waited for that moment to come for hyakuhachiho is one of the few katas were I can get can really get a calm mind :3 Ya know - I tried learning it by youtube and saw it first on youtube ^^" I like the americans one more too - but I think the other one has some important moves from the suparimpei wich should be kept in my opinion :)

  • I may have taken some liberty saying that Hyakuhachiho is "official". Much like the kata Jiin, it does not appear in any major published literature. However, like Jiin it is accepted in competition and testing for higher ranking. I did Jiin for my nidan exam in Tokyo, Japan in 1990. This was a city-wide testing held by the JKA.

  • there must be 108 moves - I guess the kata name's telling you - as far as I know :)

  • Girl in red (on right) Has a great kata, form, focus, stance, timming all excellent maybe not best in the world but very good. As far as history from earlier comments, barefoot bandit is wrong and anhk. has is right. Judo came as an after thought "gentle Art " from jui jitsu so they could practice and learn with out killing one another since early jiu jitsu was all deadlt tecqniques. Gracies learned from japaness gardener and friend and evolved the art into a ground oriented art.

  • i fought ud fight man das sum bull shit

  • This is Kanku Dai!!

  • My respect to Shotokan student.

    Class of karate aoki

  • and i never said bjj was like jjj it is jjj ;)

  • Correction, BJJ is from preWW2 judo. lol

  • yea the 14th century was pre WW2 ;)

  • what the hell does the 14th century have to do with modern judo n its cousin BJJ??? there both modern arts man your trippin on the dates

  • your trippen on your history, im not gonna bother tryna explain it cos im sik of people tryin to tell me so many difrent storys about this, so ill jst make it short, samarai-japaenese jui jitsu, people fled to barazil, tought it to them-brazillian jiu jitsu, diffrent name same thing, judo, or the simplest most affective things taken from it in the late 18th centuery, think im wrong? ask my gf grandfatehr about it, 85 yo kendo 10th dan who knows all about mart/arts history,

  • hey moron. bbj is 90 years old. judo is 110. maeda maeda thought JUDO to the gracies in the 1920's. Which is all in the 20th century. Both arts are modern dumbass. 14th century was the birthdate for jujutsu. 1880-1900 for judo which gave birth to bjj get your facts straights hahaha

  • i dont know were you got your information from but as i said, mine came from my girlfriends grandpa who is japaense, i have also spent a lot of time in japan, we are actualy moving back there next year :) so i have learnt from japanese people so im pretty sure its right ;) i actualy found somethong interesting after i got your comment last night, search, "human weapon judo" and watch all 5 parts and they say pretty much the same thing i tryd to tell you, you might have your facts straightend ;)

  • lrn 2 spl

  • ossu.

    kankudai...

the one in aka has snappy kicks and quick footwork.

  • so fast

  • What kind of performance is that ??

  • Kanku dai. It is a black belt kata in shotokan karate.

it is one of the longest and most exhausting katas. this a stellar performance. absolutely fascinating to watch how good the girl on the right is.

  • wow these girls are lighting fast! i used to do shotokhan..got up to brown with white stripes.. but it wasnt the sport for me, no full on contact, i jus started taekwondo.. lets see how that goez..

  • You should try Kyokushinkai, that way you won't stray much from your previous Karate training and technique while focusing on full contact.

  • are you mad

    karate owns every sport .

    :P

  • I do shotokan karate and in a fight yes Jujitsu would probably own karate because it is very hard for someone who is traind in kicks and punches to resist somebody charging at them and grabbing them, however it is not a matter of which martial art is better and you should not be proud of that comment.

  • I strongly agree with you Journeyman. As one martial artist to another. I have tried in a custom-made korean martial art (that had bits of WTF-style TKD around it). I must say, people like the one you just comment to, do have to realize that this is all a game when it comes to a tournament lol.

  • relax everyone it's the internet, and these Katas are scary clean. I love Karate and Jujitsu alike, they both have their strengths.

  • but we all know that greco roman wrestling is a lot harder :P

  • KANKU DAI FTW!!!!!!!

  • Sarah, I really like your kata. Body dynamics, transition and rythem are very good, though I think that you could slow it down a little bit - of course not the single technics, but the rythem (I know, in tournaments one tends to rush). One obvious problem in your kata is the distance of your end position from your starting position - which should at least in my understanding of the Kata be the same. You could easily correct that.

  • KANKU DAI

  • Ah that brings back memorys..Kanku Dai! I do not remember the names is that 2nd Dan anyone?

'88' 1st kyu by the way...Seeing that reminds me how much that can help me with my MMA

  • Karate shouldent be a sport... Stupid west ruined Karate =(

  • hehe sport it is a sport lol? why a karate man could kick the ass of a judo nerd.

In karate we have mutch more power then any sport. if your arm get broken in a karate competition you need to stand up not be like a chicken

  • I have do Shotokan Karate for 2 months in Okinawa in one of the the best Karate/Jujutsu schools in the world, I love Karate, im not goning to argue with you about which is best style because that is impossible because none is, but I think Karate is very very useful! But dont let us "Judo nerds" (Whatever is nerd???) grab you or you will die xD lol I feel you misunderstand me, I mean NO martial art is sport, it is much more than a game. But most of schools in USA is ruin MA, esspecially TKD!

  • I think martial art's are a sport

  • It is in USA, because USA ruien most of Martial arts and make it a game, there is many rules in USA martial arts. I belive real martial arts is not a sport, its a way to self defence and most of the real Asian Martial arts was made to use in wars. Jujutsu was made to fight when Samurai is fighting and the enemy us to close for a sword, Karate is used for people who arnt have a weapon and need fight to live. Dont tell me something stupid, I know my history of my own people, Karate is not game!

  • @JudoGirl20

    Words of wisdom!!!

You are absolutely right, JudoGirl20! MA are turning into sports rather than their true purpose which is survival. There are even deadlier MA than Karate such as 'Muay Boran' but aren't allowed to be practiced due to safety reasons. But here is something more important, who would join a Karate championship which could *possibly* result in a few fractured bones, broken ribs and disfigured faces?

But I agree that MA are losing their true nature and aggression.

  • No style is better... Karate is not best, no style is best, just the best idaviduals. In Japan Karate is often no pads and full contact to face with punches and kicks and is very dangerous to do it because so many people break bones in face and ribs and legs and arms and is so real! The sparring is over so fast because... get punched once in the face no pads is pretty bad... Karate is not a game for Japanese, but many USA people is learn in Japan and also are good!I love western, but not there MA

  • that was a reply to something.... i fail at posting

  • what i dont understand yet is what is the difference between bjj and judo? and how are they different

  • jiu jitsu is a lot of rolling around and wrestling and the idea in judo is to get straight into a submission hold from the takedown or throw

  • your a gerble ;) and im not sure what you mean but bjj is jjj, all jiu jitsu is from japan , it was jst tought to brazillians when a samurai fled japan to brazill and tuaght it to them, now the brazilians jst claimed it, and karate might be uselss against a gun if they are out of reach but if they are close they will get something like a broken finger from there own gun ;)

  • BJJ is not JJJ hense the different names, BJJ is a modified form of JJJ yes? And i would still take a gun over years of training in karate anyday.

my comment was a response to another comment and thus your taking it a bit of context.
