what was the name of your family business? perhaps i know it. i lived on wantagh ave, south...wantagh park road was across from the old house. n. georgia is nice. 2004 hurrican iving or irving came thru. a creek bed behind my rental house flooded. i got over 4 foot of water in my house...lmao go and figure??
i know you weren't playing it down. its how these storms hit..i don't know what or who you could contact to help out. i used to live in wantagh. i live in north georgia now. lol i would guess you could call the 9th precint and ask them. its a total mess there by wantagh park. real glad you're doing ok there. enjoy the quiet!!
@meshell86 Nice. North GA is beautiful. I have a couple friends in Wantagh more close to MacArthur HS (I guess that would be higher ground), and our old family business used to be based off of Wantagh Ave. just south of Sunrise for 30+ years, so I certainly know the town well - beautiful place. When I'm able, I'll certainly want to check out the old building. I wonder how "The Nook" is doing, haha.
and there won't be any planes....they haven't checked runways and expect to reopen monday. wantagh, belmore, lindenhurst is largely under water..those that live close to the water. big mess, people posting pics on fb
@meshell86 Indeed, I think I kind of sound in the video like I'm playing this down... that wasn't my intention, I am just so happy that I didn't get the flooding. Indeed, I have heard Bellmore and Wantagh aren't doing too great. Are there any volunteer efforts I could join? I feel almost guilty I got off so easily. I'm a bit of an aviation enthusiast myself, but for a day I am kind of enjoying the lack of jet noise. Glad you're safe. =)
