  • O.k. i just made these Breakfast Burrito's and OMG DUDE! My 80yo Zombie Dad was looking at my plate oddly while eating his Flesh with a side of Eggs. I am trying to get him to leave the Flesh but i think its to late for him. I have been Zombie free for 2 Months. Keep up the Good Job.

  • Hiya! So a little update...I totally made these and froze them and have been enjoying them all week. They are SO good!! I wrapped them in a paper towel and foil paper to freeze. To re-heat, I just took off the foil, and the paper towel, but a little water on the paper towel to keep it moist, recovered, and put it in the microwave at 40% power for 4 minutes. Vunderbar!!

  • I used to make this burrito recipe, but I realized I would probably like it Chipotle style. So, instead of wrapping it in a burrito, I would just eat it from a plate and have a tortilla on the side. It's amazing. It's basically like another variation of tofu scramz.

  • @robxvx yeah, it;s very similar to the tofu scramble. That's actually how we came up with this and then just decided to wrap it up in a tortilla.

  • @lynds0120 no, I love avocados. I picked a bunch up a while back. Although they are essential in my burritos, I prefer to leave them out of my breakfast burrito.

  • @OverflowingSound hey np. got to warn you though -they do a few different flavours some ok as a spread type of thing [imho] but one of them taste a bit like the smell from old and well worn socks.

    -the pre shredded mozzarella is the one we found 'ok' ...... but tbh am not a fan of pre made food.

  • @fadugleman I eat stuff that is vegan and tastes good. I also try to make things vegan that non vegans say that they can't live without. Most meat tastes the way it does because of how it is flavored. The way I remember it, a big juicy steak with no seasoning nor condiments, didn't taste too good. But that's just me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

  • @ZombieGate Depends on the area. I'm also from NJ and the closest whole foods to me is either an hour west in Cherry Hill, further west on south street in Philly, or up north in New Brunswick. I usually luck out in pathmark although I'm vegetarian not vegan.

  • @MsKijaro You don't absolutely have to put the bacon in there but it does add to the flavor. I have not tried anything else that tastes the same. However, if you can find vegan Canadian bacon or the vegan ham deli slices, you could dice them up and add to the recipe.

    Search youtube on how to make vegan bacon... usually it's made out of tempeh and it's pretty darn good too.

  • @JennMcFly Good job: keep it up :) Being vegan turned out to be a lot easier than I imagined. Except while travelling. Fortunately, I can live off of beer and french fries for a long time quite easily. Benefits of being a Canadian vegan (it's not a stereotype, it's the truth).

    Just remember: if it ain't vegan, it ain't healthy (or ethical)!

  • if you don't like vegan bacon, try one of the Soyrizo or sausages (like Field Roast, Gimme Lean)... those are really good in breakfast burritos as well

  • @precious014e If you have any good health food stores in your area you should be able to find them there.

  • @precious014e A lot of tortillas are vegan. You can even find them in prepackaged burrito dinner boxes most of the time. We just have the luxury of a grocery store that lists their vegan products with a big V.

  • @ZombieGate The problem I am finding is the brands aren't specifying where certain ingredients are coming from. Enzymes etc. so I tend to not trust them. I am pretty sure there are a bunch of corn tortillas that are fine but I'm not a fan of the corn tortillas.

  • @ZombieGate Eh, I didn't like the bacon. Too bad Morningstar's isn't Vegan. Either way, I love this channel! Do you have any tips on making tofu not so mushy? I have a bad gag reflex and the last time I made it I couldn't eat it without gagging. I sauteed it with mushrooms.

  • @DillonKeene Try freezing the block of tofu then let it thaw. You should then be able to squeeze the water out without it it falling apart. Then cook it up. It will be a lot less mushy. Also be sure to use the extra firm tofu and not silken tofu.

  • @DillonKeene Try the freezing trick. Then, instead of just squeezing it with your hands, cut the block into two or four chunks, layer some paper towels or a clean dish towel in a strainer, put the tofu on the towels, add some more towels on top, the put a plate on top with something weighted (a heavy can, a kettle, whatever) to put some pressure on it. Leave the whole stack in your sink for 20-30 minutes. The pressure will help squeeze way more liquid out of the tofu.

  • @DillonKeene You could also try adding the tofu to the potatoes a bit sooner than he did in the video. The longer you cook it, the more liquid will evaporate out of it and the firmer the texture will be. The smaller you crumble the tofu/the more you break it up as you stir it, the easier it will be to get a firmer texture, as well. Bigger chunks will take much longer to cook through and might be more mushy in the middle.
