  • @ Gary in Arizona, The great Louie Prima wrote this song his WAS THE VERY FIRST VERSION. I think this is an exceptional version.

  • Meee tooo !!! ************************++

  • What a great version of a classic song! I've been a huge 4 seasons fan since I was old enough to appreciate music! Does anyone know where/how I can get this song on a cd, or download?... Thanks

  • thank u 4 this very special post

  • Well, folks . . . you're either a Valli fan or you're not---I'm not, but . . . to each his own.

Just so you'll have some idea of the history of this song, check out the very FIRST, ORIGINAL version, from 1947, sung by Fran Warren, backed by the luscious Claude Thornhill orchestra (on Y.T.). A masterpiece.

  • @garysaddleback if you are basing your dislike of valli,is it just this song,or do you not care for the four seasons in general? just curious, as i think its kinda hard to dislike a group that has crossed pop, lite rock, country, dowop disco ballads concept album, and frankie probably is a fran warren fan possibly!wadda ya think?

  • The brilliance of Frankie truly shows through around 1:50 ... he takes off and soars ... the man was a true great and unique performer. Thanks Frankie for all the years of entertainment ... and thx to JWMusic for posting ...

  • to the 1 dislike,get a hearing exam asap.you need one

  • Anyone know if this is on karaoke cd? Thanks for posting. Love this song.

  • there is only one frankie valli, the impersonaters are just that... magic voice

  • WOW Still looking for Kenny Rankin's version. Anybody?

  • I don't care man the harptones or even the temptations, the 4 seasons just have a perfect harmony it's like they were born to sing with each other there sound is the ideal sound that male groups try to have. It's amazing to listen to them, I teach vocals proffesionaly and I hear hundreds of small male groups all over Canada and the USA but nothing is as pleasing to the ear as the origonal 4 seasons.

  • @ledzeppelin104 Well said. The blend that the original group had was perfect. Any time I think four-part harmony, I immediately think "Four Seasons" or "Four Tops".

  • The 4 Seasons are one of the greatest R n R groups of all time, and this record is fantastic, but the Harptones with Willie Winfield out front cant be beat.

  • I like the Jersey Boys version too

  • the 4 seasons classic!! i have this record on LP !!

  • where can i find this version of the song? its not on itunes!!

  • Nice this is the original 4 Seasons

  • I thought I heard all they had to offer and I stand corrected. This is good. Really good.

  • I had this record by them, but can't remember if this version was a FOUR SEASONS hit (?) ~ did it chart at all? It's my favorite arrangement of this old song.

  • Etta James does a very good version of this in the same style as At Last. Check it out.

  • PERFECTO!

  • I love this version, and the one in Jersey Boys :) their the ones that got me into this song <3 not the same by the others!

  • best version of the song by far.. nothing beats the frankie valli and the four seasons!

  • This group can sing anything, they are the New York Yankees of doowop, pop n RnR, long live the mighty 4 Seasons

  • I love that falsetto sound.

  • @tjthump Best singer ever

  • Fantastic!!! Rock On Jersey Boys!!!!

  • Perfection!!

  • believe it or not this song was written by Sonny Drysdales (of Hillbillys ) wife ......

  • Theirs is the first version I ever heard, and though I've heard many more since, The Seasons' remains my favorite. Beautiful! Thanks for posting!

  • @Polyphemus47 Ya gotta hear the Harptones version...this isn't bad by any means, but it pales next to Willie's version

  • @Polyphemus47 What do you think of how etta james sings it

  • Outstanding cover version of this classic tune! Frankie Valli and the Seasons do a nice job of updating this song. I believe this was recorded in 1965.

  • great harmonies on a wonderful song.

  • etta james did a good cover too

  • Thank you for posting. Been looking for this version for some time. Found the earlier ones by Jo Stafford and one by The Harptones. All take me back a long way.

  • One of their best all time performances. Too bad that most of their fans have never heard this great version!

  • Sweet! Jerry Blavat promoted this gem! Thanks for posting. I love the way FV&4S do covers!
