@24okay Toyota already hurt their Celica with the 6th gen (Because no GT-Four), and the 7th gen. The MR2 got Murdered and turned into a gay Miata that nobody really cared for. What the hell Toyota? I read in a magazine that the FT-86 was based on a shorter Impreza chassis and of course has the same boxer 4. If it is put into production the two cars that are going to be put out from Toyota and Subaru will be styled differently so you can tell the difference between the two.

i'm quite sure those at "Toyota USA" have never heard even heard of drifting, tofu, the like... they're more concerned with selling highlanders and priuses. I have a slight suspicion that in 3 years when i roll up to the toyota dealership in my 1986 corolla gt-s the fat salesman probably won't let me test drive this thing, assuming that a 22 year old asian kid with messy hair and some crappy 28 year old car won't be able to afford one of those new SPORTS CARS anyway...

thats not close ot a supra comeback... its a 375k supercar it is on a completely different platform. closest thing to the supra comeback is going to be the toyota ft hs because of its engine size, brand releasing, and planned price range of 40k which was the same price range of a new supra mk4

Yeah my point exactly - here was Toyota's prime opportunity to bring back a legend and they failed by handing it to Lexus. While this is a very nice car - its history is embedded in the AE86 and the Celica. The power plant is too wrong for a supra (too few cylinders) and it is too short. Even the Celica-Supra has 6 cylinders and was slightly longer than the standard Celica XX. Toyota have said that they plan for a spiritual successor for the supra in 2011.

ur kidding me right? the mk4 new off the factory floor weighed in at over 100k for a twin turbo manual. when you take the difference of the value of the dollar then and now into consideration, what you have isnt actually too rediculously far from the cost of the lfa....the lfa is still significantly more expensive..but not multipul times in relevance to the VALUE of the dollar back then and now.
