I always wanted to be a history professor, but unfortunately I think I do not love history enough to write 30 page papers and read countless books in order to get a PhD in history :(

I remember Carter making threats against the Russians very early in his administration back in 1976, I believe. So I question this man's view Carter. I remember being in Mexico City in 1979and Carter coming to town and insulting the President of Mexico. The Pope had been there a month later and was much better received. Carter's dovishness is a myth. He did a lot of nasty stuff in central america and east timor
i think Carter was ignorant about the atrocities in east timor. many aspects of the deep state go unnoticed by presidents...
Look at Carter's speeches about energy. Look at his career post-presidency (never accepting money for speeches). And, watch Man from the Plains, he's a good man, probably one of the most genuine we've had in a very long time.
his decision to fire his entire cabinet, no that was not very wise. he was certainly not a great 'politician.'
but under carter's reign - cut short by the treasonous october surprise - america voluntarily decreased its oil imports, and began to take energy dependence seriously. furthermore, he attempted to make human rights a cornerstone of foreign poilcy - he failed, but he at least attempted it.
telling the people what they don't want to hear... is that a bad thing?

Thank god for my second citizenship
America is not only bankrupt, it has lost its liberties forever, and its people are deeply hated around the world!
