Nice ride.. I didn't see my life flashing before my eyes once. I recall a test a bunch of UK journos did comparing sub 2000 quid bikes with a late model GSX-R1000. Out of all the cheapies the YZF-750 was quickest. When they put it up against the Gixxer there was only one second in the lap times. Still a great looking bike to my eye. I would certainly take the instrument cluster over the Morri Minor set-up on my 04 'blade any day of the week.
@ts1710 Yup mine has the 13k redline. And to clear a few things up. Its a great bike.but the days of yester year are loooooog gone.A mordern day 6 will run away and hide form it. And thats a FACT! Just to play around.I got my ol girl started and my boy had his 636 over. Long story short. That 636 put train links on my ole 750! lol My 750 is still in good shape. I ride it mabe onece every 3months. I rode my r1 and 750 back to back and the7 feels like a mopad compaired to the R1
I had a '96. Heavy and somewhat underpowered (dynoed at 104 at the tire) compared to newer bikes but the gear box felt rifle-bolt slick compared to lots of bikes and over all beautifully made.
it takes alot to get it to handle could not be more wrong - it handles really good its just underpowered - put some perelli super corsa's on the bike and its handles just as good as new bikes - so learn to ride or whatever it is you do
@jsugar72 I agree, they love to corner. Not sure if i agree with you on the underpowered thing though. An 17year old 750 that can keep up with modern 600s is pretty damn good in my book...
@OmNomNomFap - and when i say it handles good, that is with the Olins set-up. I've done my homework, the bike is heavy, and compared to the bikes of its time, was underpowered and essentially came to the party late. I LOVE the bike, don't get me wrong, it's one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen designed - far better looking them some new bikes, but you have to except its downfalls. THe bike is foregiving and has saved my ass many times.. CHEERS
@jsugar72 Meh, I'm a pretty weedy guy and I have no problems with it at all. Read/Watch 'Twist of the Wrist 2' by Keith Code, makes life so much easier...

maybe it's a YZF 750, but not with original dials. The YZF 750 R/SP redlines at 13k, not 11.5...
