I don't like everything from Texas but, two of the best blues/rock guitar players ever are from Texas. Johnny Winter from Beaumont and Eric Johnson from Austin. If you've never seen Johnny Winter rip it up live, you have no idea what you have missed.

Yes, there are three really good blues/rockers from Texas. I should have mentioned SRV. I saw him in Atlanta in 1986 and he played Voodoo Childe better than Hendrix did it himself. (I saw Hendrix in 1970 at Atlanta Pop Festival, too).
