They are influenced by different things, such as hip hop and metal, but also hardcore punk and classical rock. I don't really care to call them punk or metal, since they are kinda both.

In fact, I think that despite all of the loads of nu metal bands that came out in the 90's and early 2000's, Ill Ninos set themselves apart and were actually pretty awesome...but now all of the same fans are buying the same CDs. The only way for a genre to grow is to keep gaining new fans, ie. the younger generation. Sadly kids today aren't rocking out to nu metal like they used to. Right now, Nu metal is sustaining itself, not growing.

People got into Ill Nino's last album because they have metalcore in their sound and breakdowns, and metalcore is top of the younger metalheads' music tastes. So maybe if Nu started to evolve a bit and have metalcore or other traits, newer fans might come.

So rather than Nu merely coming back, the sound needs to improve abit
