  • l just love acoustic guitar ... captured feeling in your song

  • @imaiden - I appreciate your comment.

  • Really good song! You can hear the feeling in it when you sing

  • @RupertLongbottom - Thanks...

  • Sorry for your loss. This is a great tribute to his memory.

  • @JohnOliverY - Thanks John, I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment on my song.

  • Hey John -- beautiful melody! Thanks for sharing!

  • @charleylanger - Hello Charley, I just read your message and want to thank you for your thoughts about ways to improve this song. You were not the first one to tell me to slow it down a bit. I guess I just was more concerned about the fact that it is a Bossa Nova, and most Bossa Novas are uptempo. Again thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

  • Beautiful and touching song. I'm sorry about the loss of your son.

  • @nhkox - Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment. I do appreciate the fact that you did.

  • You happen to be the first person who sent me a video link, that I was compelled to listen too. Perhaps you reminded me of me. It takes us time to want to share what we hold so close. John, you shared your soul and your heartbreak, and I know somewhere your Son was listening, perhaps even wishing, that he had done things differently. Thank you.

  • @kathydolan - Kathy, I appreciate your honesty. Frankly videos are sent to me all of the time, and only a few of them have "compelled" me to want to take a look at them. At this point in my life, I'm not looking for fame or fortune, but rather recognition for my creativity. Your kind words of understanding have given me gratitude for your having taken the time to listen and comment. Thank you.

  • @Rietkamp - After six years the pain never does go away...I have accepted the fact that he was a grown man and not a teenager. He was a father to a 12 year old, and should have used more common sense. Addictions are a tough nut to crack...but we often talked about the dangers of using drugs and he wasn't using his better judgment. In his mind, he thought he was invulnerable...he was dead wrong. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video and comment to me.

  • @Rietkamp Believe me, the pain will get less worse. So it’s a good thing that you talk about the loss of your son and it’s a good thing that you wrote a song about it. You don’t have to feel guilty if you don’t think about him a couple of days. This is something you can allow yourself to do. Because he will always be in your heart! He was a grown up man, but the drugs, not he, had took over his will. He was powerless, you were powerless. It’s terrible what addictions can do to a man’s life!

  • Subscribed ! Amazing and very touching !

  • @BlackFingerBoard - I appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment. Thank you so much.

  • just subscribed. you are phenomenal!

  • @undergroundskeet - Thanks. Hope I can continue to find things to write about. Never know where the inspiration will hit you...

  • great song John !!!!!

  • @Pyromancer32087 - Thank You so much...Is a pyromancer someone who loves pies? Or is it like a "Pyro" maniac who loves playing with fire? If you play with fire...you will get burned....Hey...that could be a song...

  • @johnnieguitarII hey john this is Roger's son Rich i didnt block you i just got rid of my facebook. pyromancer was 1 of the many first names of my old band it changed a few times when we split about a year ago we where called Mercury Wings. but a pyromancer is a creature kinda like a gremlin that flies and throws fireballs from an online game called titan quest that i used to play lol im a nerd !!!!!

  • @Pyromancer32087 - I'm glad you cleared that up for me. I knew the term "pyromancer" had something to do with fire. I couldn't find you on facebook and thought you might have canceled you account. It's supposed to be a "social network" but sometimes it's more like a "social disease"...lol. I use it mostly to keep friends and family informed about events with the band and new music. Hang in there...we are all on a journey through this adventure...life just gets in the way sometimes...

  • @johnnieguitarII facebook is fine if you only use it to advertise your music or to play annoying farmville lol other than that all it does is fuel the drama queens lol thats why i got rid of mine im tired of trying to be a good person and getting nothing out of it except aggrivation from some but not all of the people on there i think you are a great musician and we can keep in contact through youtube rather than dramaBOOK !!!!!!

  • @Pyromancer32087 - The nice thing about YouTube is getting to see AND hear the talents of so many diverse musicians and songwriters. Music and songwriting is my passion, and YouTube is the perfect place to allow others to see & hear your music and critique it as well. I don't get upset if someone tells me that they do not like one of my songs...I just stamp my feet, run up the stairs and lock myself in the bathroom....lol...just kidding of course...but I think you know what I'm talking about.

  • John, This is a tremendous song. You're right - it relates to so many different cicumstances. I'd love to hear it done with a full Latin Band with a female singer. It has the potential to be really moving, and to touch a lot of people!

    D.J.B.

  • @Nothin66 - It also has that capability to be sung by either gender and still work. I've tried to do lyrics like that. This way they can easily be sung by a girl or a guy. This is one of those lyrics. Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to comment.

  • Great song with great emotion John. Your son would be proud.

  • @speedfreak621 - Thanks ... appreciate the comment...

  • This is a great song. Thank you. I feel the same way.

  • @Ulmdorgr - I tried to make the lyrics sort of "generic" so as not to imply it referred to a particular life event. The song can fit so many different scenarios; lost love, the death of a loved one, or just someone who has moved on to another relationship. There is no mention of the passing of a loved one, but it can be taken in that respect. Thanks for taking the time to watch and listen to my video, and especially for your comment...

  • @johnnieguitarII Aha, I'm glad that you wrote this ambiguously. Defined art has difficulty reaching broad audiences or producing meaning for various situations. Respect.

  • is this song original? If not, who wrote the song?

  • @blackscarab1 - It is an original song. I wrote it this year.

  • @johnnieguitarII man it sounds really professional. it's sounds alittle bit like bossa nova. what are the chords dude?

  • nice

  • @sope11 - Thanks

  • My heart to you Brother. Good song! Peace be with you.

  • Hi John,

this is a good song. Very well sung and played. And it's a good way to alleviate his pain.

    Peace and love, Guenter

  • @GuenterGeurts - Guenter, I took a while to come to terms about his passing, but as the title of the song says, the pain never does go away. Thanks for listening and commenting.

    John

  • This song fits in all of our lives.. So many things have happened to most of us out here. Thanks for this great song.. It made my think about my parents and sister who have passed away.. Sorry to hear about your son. Time does dull the pain but it never completely goes away. We just have to remember the good times.God bless you and your family,

  • @ncautoman57 - Thank you. I never know when the inspiration for a song will come to me. In an e-mail to a friend, I said, in regard to my son's passing, "although it hurts less and less, the pain never goes away." As soon as I typed those words I said to him , "you know, I think there's a song in there somewhere, don't you think?" I went to my Word Program and the words just flowed...took me about six or seven minutes and the lyrics were done. Thanks for listening and commenting.

  • Wow, this is brilliant. Keep it up, this is brilliant :)

  • @Gennargh - Glad you liked it, thanks for listening.

  • good bossa latino....

  • @lu4ofa - Thanks....

  • Great song - you're right, it can be applied to so many things life... made me think of my late father. Thanks for sharing.

  • @mmcquain - I tried to make the lyrics "generic" so anyone hearing them could somehow relate. Thanks for listening and commenting, much appreciated.

  • beautiful :)

  • @WolfeyWolf - Thanks...

  • Very nice indeed. I don't know if it's a samba, salsa, bossa or something entirely different, but I like that Latin rhythm.

  • @Hoopermazing - It's most definitely a bossa nova...I suppose it is the Latin blood that runs through my veins. I have always liked the sounds of the music from Brazil.

  • Sorry to hear the story of your loss John...Can't begin to imagine the pain...The song is beautiful lyrically and wonderful playing...Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey John, I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that must bring. This song is a lovely tribute to your son. God bless you. BSP

  • @BeatleSongPlayer - It took me some time to get over the loss. The pain never does go away. I wrote the lyric in a way that could refer to other scenarios, like lost love, or just missing someone who has gone away, and not necessarily passed on. I tried it a bit slower, but the up tempo "bossa nova" really worked for me, kind of like a song by one of those Brazilian composers. Thanks for listening and commenting. I really do appreciate your feedback.

  • Classic composing! Beautiful song played and sung masterfully.

    Best wishes

    Staffan

  • @staffansvahn = Thank you Staffan.

  • @Bigerjoel - Appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.
