Is Snow Leopard a Bigger Upgrade Than We Think?

I Like your opinion! apple may be hiding something from us and with the creation of snow leopard apple is preparing us for one gigant update like it was from OS 9 to OS X or the upgrade from tiger to leopard (Huge). I Hope its true because i think that 2 or more little things in snow leopard need to be better. Problem is that people that don't have intel would't be prepared for the upgrade, well i have snow leopard so wait for the 10.7 to come out, wish luck to everybody.

I wish it had better SSD support. Windows 7 has some pretty heavy optimizations, should it detect a SSD, and it shows in benchmarks. OSX, on the other hand, is highly unoptimized for them, forcing manufacturers to slow down their SSD's through firmware because OSX's file system cannot keep up. OSX also keeps moving files around the hard drive (read about HFS+'s method of defrag) while Windows 7 disables defrag and precaching on SSD's, reducing read/write cycles and thus prolonging its life.

1st, it's interesting about the snow leopard pic.

2nd, I got 20 gigs back (woohoo)

3rd, I hope they add the option to add a taskbar below the dock or above the menu bar that can show all open apps or just the open app windows so that I don't have to go click always to Expose, that could be one of the awesome new features

4th, SSD's suck in space. The Intel transition was good, but macbooks currently can only have 120 gig SSD's, so unless they make a breakthrough I'm not getting one

Saving disk space has nothing to do with SSDs. They just dropped PowerPC support.

Snow Leopard used new technology to compress the OS to make is use less space..also it takes advantage of the openGL and 64-bit computing. I actually think 10.6 is the final revision of OS X and OS 11 will bring us something totally different. Reason i think its the final osx is because the package even says finally tuned and plus the name snow leopard is not a huge name change from leopard.. i just think apple has something up their sleeve
