Hi Erin! I've been watching your videos and finding a lot of inspiration here. :) I know you are getting a ton of comments and messages, but I wanted to let you know something...Thank you for posting your journey through this transition. You inspire me to push forward, and never give up in my search for happiness in this world. Your videos shine a light on the trans community, and I hope you have opened some hearts with your wisdom, and determination.
you give me hope i am going to try to get homeore allthough i am only 15 but you know what i am with you i don't feel like a male but i can't give up to be truthful i was on the path to killing myself over it but after telling my mom and dad i am going though therpy but only once i am going next week but you giveing me hope i and if you can go though it i can too if i ever move to NY you and me should hang out
I like can't help but cry during these. I connect to this because I grew up in Mesa Arizona, which also has a very large Mormon population. My parents have disowned me for being gay and I've had many people disagree with me. I love that you are so brave and strong. Thank you so much.
As a christian, I have a lot of sympathy for you. Believe me. And lots of christians do. There will always be people telling you we fear you or hate you. But we live in the same world you do and know that this world is filled with confusion and anguish. All we want to do is share an opinion with you and let you decide. I believe that you were created to be a boy, and you can experience all the joys of it if you trust God. I just see people destroy or change their bodies and that's painful
@Ezekiel2b - Humans are born the right sex. Not everything in life can be changed. Your body is what it is, and your soul is what it is. You shape what you do with the soul. Does it live by faith? Or does it become manipulated by lies?
@dogeymon83 "Humans are born the right sex" And you can know this how?? (Assuming you mean all humans, that is.) You describe anyone who doesn't share your religious beleifs as having a soul manipulated by lies. When the idea of 'faith'-accepting and beleiving without logic or reason- sounds like a pretty good tool for manipuation.
@Ezekiel2b - Whatever. I think it's healthy and beneficial to accept the way you are. I'm only one person. In the interest of avoiding an argument, I'll change to saying that this is my opinion. Fighting against the way you were made is a losing battle. A man can never be a woman. I think trying to become something your not is just going to leave you sad and depressed because you can't ever really become it. You don't have to agree. That's all I'll say.
I see a sweet classy young lady sharing an incredibly personal adventure with the world. I saw courage beyond your years, warmth, and preserverance for happiness. I see what could have been for my dearly missed and loved friend. I see answers for me on how to be a better more supportive confidante--if I am ever blessed to know and be the friend to another transgendered individual. Most of all, I see normal and that;s the exact opposite of what society expects. Thank you for being yourself
I would like to share with you why I find your posts so amazing. First, I live in Utah and watched my best friend born male body wise, but 100% female inside wither away from the extreme guilt he felt from this community, his church, family, and school mates. I see you being open, extremely honest without being pushy, but polite and from the heart. I see my departed friend in your eyes, and hear her in your words. I see hope for so many who may not get it anywhere but online.

I just have to wonder was it easier to live as a boy or as a girl? If you remember. I am not talking about your internal feelings, but rather how people treat you.
There are trade offs. As far as getting a decent paying job, or having people listen to me when I say something, that was much easier as a boy. As far as not having to pay for things, or for being taken care of, that was easier as a girl.
Though I never made a very good boy so I'm not sure how valid that is.
@whitehiphop1 I've seen this post on numerous videos posted on this subject, all I'm going to say is that I'm not going to say anything, there are people who Troll the internet to get a rise out of people and things like this are easier than most so..
Don't pay attention to this person, proud of you and keep it up.
Well it's not about being cute... it's about having my body match my desired gender. You're on the right path to understanding it by watching these videos though.
Thank you for being you! I wish the world would have been here where it is now, I reaized one night (I was 15) that what I could not name and so longed for was that I wanted to be a girl. I lived my life happy as a man, but the longing never left. I'm 59 now. Yes I would have been a lesbian if that is what some need to label it. But that is what I also wanted. You have made a bigger difference in this world by being yourself than you will ever know.
I know what you mean about being more open and honest about sorta private things when you're online, even though a lot of people act like it "ought to be" the opposite (OMG someone could find out by searching for you and running across it!). I don't do anything online that would RUIN me or whatever, but I deliberately address and confront issues that don't come up in everyday life for me.
I'm asexual and have a whole series about it on YT, but IRL? I don't go out of my way to discuss it.
Hi I'm fom Mexico I have a Question. You were so cute and handsome as a boy. Why did you dicide to be a woman and why not to be a cute gay?? There are many handsome and masculine gays outthere But i think that you will be a pretty woman for sure XD
Because I'm not a gay male. It doesn't really work that way.
People always wonder why lesbians would date a butch dyke... why not just date a guy? It's sort of a similar thing... it's because they're lesbians. Same way that I transitioned because I'm a girl... not because of who I want to have sex with.
I would easily go from here (sweden) to new york just to say hello to you =) I know that you don´t have a clue who I am but I support you every second. Love you for doing this blog! <3
you're such an inspiration!!! I "realized" and "came out" about at the beginning of the year ...
so far I've only had (what I call) a "side blog" ... just telling my thoughts ... and I've kept it mainly private ... however after watching your videos ... I found them about an hour ago, and I've already forgotten how I found them ... but you've inspired me ... I want to starting doing this on.
Thank you for doing this for us. And thank you for inspiring me.

These vids have been enlightening. Being a bisexual, I've obviously been tolerant for homosexuals, but not so much to transgender. But having seen your perspective, I realize now that gender identity is as little of a choice as homosexuality, and have a new respect for transgenders.
Your bravery is helping so many people. I love watching your videos and I think this documentary is so well-done and informative. I look forward to more videos from such a neat person.

Brava! You're wonderful. Your videos always bring tears to my eyes, making life after transition seem so much more real and accessible and possible. It scares me so much, and videos like this bring me so much hope and comfort.
Hello i'll like to say thank god that you made these documentaries because of them i now have better understanding of things and more open minded to life thank you so much and god bless
Erin, I'm sure when you started you never dreamed the impact you would have on so many lives. Was there ever a time when that sort of freaked you out that so many people were looking to you as a role model & inspiration? Thanks for continuing to share your life's journey publicly. There are countless examples of human trainwrecks exploited by the media. Your "unspectacular" life shows ordinary people they can do this too. Real life is underrated. Thanks to you & YouTube for helping change this.
Ya, I actually still get a bit freaked out by it. I had someone recognize me on the street outside the lgbt center here in nyc the other day and it was very strange. It's amazing and great and I am so glad that I have been able to help people, but it's just never something I saw in myself.
i can completely identify with the feeling of forgetting just how bad it was to grow up in a certain part of the country. but forgetting what it feels like is part of why we leave!!
so cool to see all that old footage in here.. i remember the time when you couldn't go home to your family, and when you applied for the name change.. It's been great to be there with you through all this time... even if it is from across the world.

Brava! You're wonderful. Your videos always bring tears to my eyes, making life after transition seem so much more real and accessible and possible. It scares me so much, and videos like this bring me so much hope and comfort.

It's been great to be there with you through all this time... even if it is from across the world.

youre not fake nor are you annoying. you're easy to relate to, even if you are transgender, you know?
