  • Would blocking white's rook with rook at g7 at 6:45 not have been better?

  • A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

  • spoiler alert: anand wins the championship

  • Anand is Amazing

  • please, adjust the size of the board so that it makes a square

  • Hope to see you in May 2012

  • Anand won this game.

  • RagingLdrago you was lucky.

  • I won my game against a fide master rated 2395 and i am national rated 1200

  • I think anand won in this game! I don't know you're talkinga bout

  • GO BG!! GO TOPALOV!!

  • boring get in to rugby

  • it's not sofya but Sofia

  • @Baldoxxx400 well actually chess seems to be familiar with league of legends, so it is a strategy game except chess is way harder than LoL

  • really awesome video. i like how you dont theorize and, rather, focus on the surface level analytics

  • Listen to this awesome games PLEASE with playing this music in the background. Try it!

    /watch?v=AweaGo4WWFU&feature=feedu

  • WTF is this shit, this isnt starcraft2, bunch of nerds, shove those pieces up ur asses....

  • @Baldoxxx4000 If you actually spent some time looking at the title, you might have realized that this is a chess game. Or maybe you just can't read. If you have not realized by now. Yes. I'm being sarcastic. Now go home and cry to your mother.

  • @Baldoxxx4000 lol i play sc2... but the majority of sc2 players can hardly top the hundred-iq mark.

lol i was pretty pro when i first started sc2 becos my strat was so trained by chess. i owned.

anyway, go watch sc2 replays and go scavenge old versions of fraps, noob.

  • how do you get the chess board animation thingy

  • at 7:44, you didn't cover Qxc7. What next?

  • hey jrobi are you gonna cover the 2012 world chess championship

  • Out of the 12 games this was my favorite game, i dont have a favorite player, i just like good games

  • alternate line: 1: h2=h8=Kamikaze Pawn d7-d5, 2 KPh8-e8#

  • In America They Eat All over the place. LOL. There's no invitation whatsoever.

  • love this series, i wish you would cover some older more famous world championships

  • Amazing commentary, im getting back into chess and you alone made my interest sky rocket! Thank you!

  • Why he didn't ate the horse at 1:48?

  • @Kisame99

    there was queen :)

  • Anand is the first Asian WC in Men's Chess in History.

  • WHAT SOFTWARE IS THIS!!!! omg.....

  • @shaaraadu that wouldnt work. White queen to d4 black king was to move away from black queen then black losses a queen for a rook

  • Anand got absolutely fucked in this game.

  • BULGARIA WIN!

  • Why didn't Anand move his 'idle' knight to B3 to fork the queen and rook?

  • @5:23 king check by horse right ??? y cont. moving ??? Zzz

  • @dotamaster21 stick to dota

  • did he say...''ok bitch lets open things up a little bit''

  • @thegame52291 no he said "okay Vishy let's open things up a little bit" because Vishy is short for Viswanathan which is Anand's first name.

  • I love how the beginning//// its awesome

  • who won at the end ??

  • What is the chess software they use?

  • At 7:24 Couldn't the black queen move to D6 hence protecting the Black Pawn at D4 and also initiating a "plan" to steal the white rook at C7? I think this move would've given Black an ample amount of time to actually come up with a counter strategy with the remaining few pieces he had left.

  • At time 6:46 of your clip when the White Rook gives Check to Black King, why can't the king move back to F6? Was it a mistaake by Anand to move the King to E8? Thanks a lot for the awesome analysis!!

  • lol...i feel like i'm watching Monday Night Football with John Madden.

  • at the video 7:13/9:51 why did the black ate the bishop instead of the rook?

  • There is something called computer chess championship. I think you shoud make videos about that.

  • @xacegod lol.... NOPE. a2 pawn defends, the knight will be taken.

  • how do you play these players?

  • brilliant anyalasis

  • he had to notice that he could take either queen or rook just by moving his knight!

he had that move for a whole game! if he didn't want to play with knight I can say it is a thrown game...

  • What's that program you use for make the video?

I'm speaking about the chess program (not the camera program)

    Please answer to me....thx....;D

  • 5:06 on a5 DUDE

  • I really don't see why these people are considered good from this video they seem like I could beat them.

  • @MrPitseleh The thing is the pros know how to counter just about any situation you can think of

  • @limoguy333 At about 1:48 why didn't white just take the knight with his? And just before that why'd black throw away his pawn like that?

  • @MrPitseleh lol what? the average person doesn't stand a chance against a GM. The average person has a better chance beating Lebron 1 on 1. lol

  • @dankfizzy Whatever. Explain why they did the stuff I mentioned in my last comment.

  • @MrPitseleh At 1:48, the reason he didn't take the knight was b/c of something called tempo. If he white captures, then black queen comes down and captures blacks knight. White is left with nothing but a single pawn developed while blacks queen is in the middle of the board. Conversely, by attacking black knight with his pawn, white is left with great center control with his 3 pawns. And of course, these players are much better than me and likely have more even in depth explanations for this.

  • @dankfizzy I'd have taken the knight then maybe moved e2 up to e3 to back up the other pawn. His way splits up the far left two pawns leaving that one with no one to protect or to be protected by, I just hate splitting up pawns it leaves gaps.

  • @dankfizzy what's a GM

  • @joooski GM = Grandmaster, aka the best chess player in the world

  • Lol there really is no difference between a pro's footage and an average persons footage when it comes to chess.

  • is this a blitz game ?

  • india rocks man..

  • sometimes, it's refreshing to hear or read a noncomputer-aided analysis

  • thanks i'll be going to chess torment monday [10 years old]

  • gr8 video!!!!thumbs up..!!!

  • the message bubble was blocking the screen

  • Awesome commentary. Chess will be more spectator friendly if we had more such commentators who make it exciting even if it is not a live commentary. A quick correction of pronunciation of Anand. I understand it is not that common for westerners to come across these names. Anand is pronounced more like Awe-Nun-d. Not as Uh-Naand. Thanks Jrobi for the videos.

  • @nammanur isn't it pronounced ah-nahnd? that's how I've always heard it pronounced.

  • @CheapShotFail The transliteration can be tricky/difficult to English. The first letter 'A' is elongated in pronunciation. Hence like Awe or aah. The next 3 letters viz nan is pronounced more like English word nun/none. So it is more like Aah-nun-d. Hope it is not too confusing.

  • @nammanur ok, thanks! glad I can show respect and pronounce his name correctly!

  • A rook on the seventh rank is a bone in chickens throat

  • definetely very nice video. I think Knight should have taken with Queen. There were some commentry after the game that says that Anand made blunder by taking it with Queen. That just was mistake, but he defended pretty reasonably....

  • 7:29, WTF, why anand move queen b5?, is not better move king c7?

  • @Dadaistaprofesional Hey he can not take the rook on c7 because at the other end of the line (h7) is the rook so he cant take the rook because he would be in check. hope i helped

  • Good commentary!

  • 7:23 couldn't black exchange his queen for two rooks?

  • @olympiakaraga7te

    yeah i agree

  • When I was playing against my friend, (I BEAT HIM), my teacher told me and my friend about this link. Its a great video and it really did help me a lot.

  • dawg. i cant believe im watching a chess game!

    good game tho

  • nice job! learned a lot

  • nice job on this :) learned a lot!

  • Jrobi is God!

  • what if at 7:10 black queen took c7?

would that have changed the outcome of the match or would it just have prolonged the loss?

  • Comment removed

  • what if at 7:10 black queen took c7?

would that have changed the outcome of the match or would it just have prolonged the loss?

  • I'm confused... at 7:10 after Bishop to b5, why doesn't Anand play Queen takes C7?

My engine puts him up a pawn after that move. I've got to be missing something....

  • @paTRICK12358 @psychicran , after ... qxc7, white simply does qxd4 and wins the game

  • @paTRICK12358 after Qxc7 Qxd4+

    Bd7 blocking

    Rxd7+

    and white is winning

    that's why he didn't take on c7

  • bad ending

  • Jrobi has a way of taking an otherwise dull game of chess and turning it into a monster death match. lol

Grab the popcorn, sit back and watch the pieces come alive. :)

  • Wow. Great game. It looks so effortless, yet when I try to do that, I completely fail.

  • great analysis.... thanks for posting!

  • Wow, and amazing win! Great Effort from Both Sides! Shame on those Who say Chess isn't Exciting!

  • awsome commentary may i know Noomen.ctg or sheebar.ctg or rybka 2 .ctg is better for aquarium.

  • Watching this reminds me of GR tourney casts. Excellent casting, very interesting to watch even for a non-player like me. Keep it up. :)

  • 5:49 - 5:55 nice rap rhyme!!!:)

  • @proshinigami15 i just listened to it again yeah rhymes perfectly =)

  • really great presentation - your impressions make this fun! Thank you

  • from 3:00 why didnt Anand play knight to b3

  • @repsak3 because the pawn on a2 would take it easy

  • awesome

  • Absolutely genius commentary, I've watched all of these games, please keep up the great work :)

  • booooooring!!!

  • @SuperBingoDingo Go and play with your action figures instead!

  • Anand (black) had so many oppotunitys to take out Topalov's rook?(the tower) or the queen by moving his A5 knight to B3, why didnt he ? Unless i missed something, there wasn't enything that could take it out from that position

  • amazing move at 2:15... they are both very good. Anands opening was THAT cool great vid

  • at 5:08 the black knight doesn't just sit doing nothing, it's blocking that nice a2-g8 diagonal which could really make some trouble if white would play the bishop on it ;)

  • thank you very much for the analysis

  • Great Video! Thank You! Good Job

  • I'm a GM Leon hoyos manuel, I tell to everybody the bad moves to everybody

  • fantastic Playing Game Tapalov

  • @mrsandip1979 Great Game

  • Thanks for your nice comments and video man.

  • Like the vids, and yeah, the personal view i reckon helps a lot more than a computer analysis!

  • where can i watch live stream when the match is going on ? please reply someone ,thanks

  • who is who?? ..Topalov is white and Anand is black??

  • @enriquelmx You can tell by the order the names are listed. Topalov is listed first. Topalov is white.

  • Great video and commentary. Going to watch the other ones you uploaded recently.

  • my possibilities, are: Ca5 to b7 or Qe5 to Qe4.

  • IMO, your commentary is north of brilliant. Really enjoyed watching this match, thank you!

  • VERY PROFESSIONAL (=

  • Hey Jrobin. Thanks so much for posting this - I really wouldn't have bothered to look the games up were it not for you. I enjoy your commentary and your dedication to the game. I look forward to the other outcomes as well.

    -Serrate-

  • I really enjoyed all your video's on the World Chess Championship!!

    Thanks for the good time!

  • bulgaria!!!!!!!!!!

  • At 3:29 after Topalov plays Bxg7, why didn't Anand play dxc3 as an in-between move and if Bxf8 then Anand would win the Queen with cxd2?

  • hey jrobiches, would it be possible to acquire something that shows me every move these guys made throughout the whole game? Thanks a lot.

  • Great stuff.

  • What is the time controle?

  • I tried loading your website and both of my browsers crashed... weird.

  • The commentary IS good, but I thought it was delivered way too fast. And first impressions are of course valuable and carry emotional weight, but you would also want the factual aspect. Here in this game, 23...Kf7 instead of what appears to be an almost winning move 23...Bd7 should count as one of the biggest blunders in the history of World Championship matches. It would have deserved mentioning.

  • why didnt' anand move that darn biship, the whole game it sat there!

  • @sellbullion at this great level, it's all about white action and black reaction. anand didn't have a spare move to develop the bishop, also it was controlling a nice diagonal until white started pushing the f pawn

  • @sellbullion anand didn't get enough sleep the night before the game so he was sleepy and didn't see biship.

  • thanks for the video.

  • Nice

  • why didnt Anand ever use that a5 Knight to fork the White Rook and White Queen?

  • anand-topalov . c o m for Schedule and News

  • great video

  • jrobi... your an incredible commentator... but i would love to see some more of your live games.

  • THAT WAS AWESOME HE SACRIFICED THE KNIGHT I DIDN'T SEE THAT :p THANKS FOR THE VIDEO JROBICHESS!

  • Great video!

  • amazing video thank you

  • @joooski Thanks!

  • This needs a redo. According to the moves I saw on Chessgames the last two moves were

    29 Bb5...Qxe4

    30 Rxc8+

Toppy made the great move of RxB at the end and you missed the whole thing! C'mon! Please wait till the body is cold before doing a postmortem.

  • @JoeyFudd Actually many sites got the last 2 moves wrong because of the incorrect Live player from the tournament site. However, it's not worth a redo because it was totally lost regardless of the last 2 moves after Topalov's very nice bishop move. I considered redoing it for about 0.1 seconds, and wanted to leave it as is to keep with the timing and spirit of when it was made. Plus, having those incorrect moves just serves to footnote that it happened.

  • @JoeyFudd The annotation is at the correct spot. The resignation still took place 2 moves after the very nice move with the bishop by Topalov and that won't change. I actually kind of like how their live viewer confused numerous sites, because it shows just how instant this kind of information spreads now and that small part of the video is a great footnote example.

  • Gr8 job!!!!

  • @elpiolis Thanks for checking it out!

  • What is the address to the official website jrobi, just so everyone knows

  • @Iodine1987 It's anand-topalov(dot)com for the live games. It's a very nice site compared to ones from other years.

  • Thanks for the fine video as usual. good stuff.

  • @BlindLemonJaffaCake Thanks for checking it out!

  • @jrobichess my pleasure ... keep up the excellent work. We all appreciate it.

  • Thank for sharing the videso: Excellent work

  • @ZOTOBICRBOT Thanks Z!

  • I love how excited he sounds about this
