But so many are loving and tolerant. The core beliefs are of love and forgiveness and it is a work in progress for many believers. If you don't believe in yoga as an form of exercise, that's fine, but all they are doing is breathing. I fail to see any religious connection here. Yoga is a form of exercise and while some people who practiced it traditionally are Sikhs and Shia Muslims. There are also many claims that early Christian monks and some of the more auster Jewish sects practiced a form of yoga interms of chanting and breathing. You may want to learn more about Christian history before postng.

3-HO, or "American Sikh" women wear turbans by choice. They are very devout. I am shocked at how critical people are being about non-substantive issues. i would rather be taught by someone that "walks the walk" as the 3-HO Kundalini yoga practitioners do, than by someone that is just a fitness instructor--probably taught Calisthenics in the 70's, and aerobics in the 80's, and whatever was popular in the 90's, and now is teaching yoga. not that there is anything wrong with that--but come on!

I like the way breath of fire is taught on the Ana Brett & Ravi Singh DVD's. It is not as agressive as here. They say "light like sniffing" and the panting is done like a "happy little puppy." The effects feel the same (energizing). But their less aggressive approach is more sustainable and just plain feels better to me.

It is worth learing this breath technique. I even use it at the gym sometimes. It really gives you a good vitalizing inner massage. I am totally hooked on this breath technique.

As a Shaktipat Guru i wish to respond to this video - be advised that when the Kundalini activates this pranayam can cause illness and havoc - Why ? because if the channels are not balanced you will be pulling in to much energy in one channel verus the other and will become extremely off balanced and what started out as energizing and cleansing can become an extreme detriment to ones path forward. - .
