didn't like the movie... sorry... there are too many things that don't match with the reality.for example, their HAIR STYLE, the makeup, THE DANCE, (omg i hate that dance. geisha/maiko do not dance like that), the manners. Spielberg should have study geisha's manners, and look, and everything. you can just by watching videos of TRUE geiko on youtube, understand how this movie is not well done.

I totally agree!! Geiko and Maiko of Kyoto definatly do not look or act like that, they never did actually! That weird "dance" [if you could call it that..] she does in the snow with the geta has a part called the '8-figure walk' in it. That's something that Oiran [prostitutes] do!!! Her hair looks dumb, especially with the kanzashi in it... >_> I hate Arthur Golden personally, he disgrased a family and thinks he knows everything about Geisha. Bah. Btw, revoleminaa your English was very good!!

Uh, seriously Amerello80, you're being biased when you said Chinese actresses cost less because everyone in this movie are in the hollywood, the main characters at least. But because there aren't that much Japanese, in fact very very few in Hollywood, they had to look for the Chinese. Plus, where did you get the statistic that China is the fall of our country? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard because without them, I'm sure you'd be paying 5 times more than the stuffs you buy.

This is a japanese movie, but all the casts in here are Chinese. For instance, Zhang Ziyi. I guess there are very few Japanese actors/actresses in Hollywood to play this movie.
