We had an african grey parrot named Paco. He was great at the phone conversation too..would sound just like my husband..ok ok bye bye..then beep sound as the phone would hang up. When my son was potty training he would call to me to come and get him off the potty chair when he was finished. He would yell "mommy I'm ready" and I would yell back "ok". Well, one day he called out that he was ready and PACO answered OK...in my voice! It was hilarious!
That is amazing. It's like he recorded someone's answering machine and repeating what they said. lol Then he laughs. lol Don't mention anything personal around him. He'll put your business out there. :D
@Nathanyel Thnx, they do somewhat understand the language thnx :-D maybe in the future there will be parrots that can translate for the mute due to higher intelligence and understanding of the language and maybe understanding sign language to be able to do the translations XD.
My sister has an African Grey... One of her first mimics was the morning visit by the dump truck every day. "BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEP"... And it was LOUD! LOL
@MiNennuka yes that is true, once i said in front of my grey parrot here they come again and when the guest arrived he was repeating it over and over till the guest finally asked me why is he saying that. felt really bad and to make it worse he started to make farting sounds from where did he pick that up god knows. It was really embarrassing.
It's so remarkable how observant parrots are when they imitate phone calls. He hits seven imaginary number keys when dialing. I was expecting an eighth beep for the "talk" button but maybe your phone doesn't work that way?
totally see him doing two things. 1 in the middle of the night he makes the phone sounds and people get up to find the phone. 2 when someone is walking around the house at night from nowhere you hear his evil laugh in a distant corner.
I have a Grey as well and I can relate, I manager an apartment building and she is in the office with me everyday and whenever the phone rings she calls out "Park View, How may I help you"
lol my father used to have a parrot when i was a kid,the little fella only liked my father and one day i tried to pet him he grabbed on my fingers so hard,I still have the scars i do not play with birds at all for life time
i has a 3 year old parrot (african congo) but he dont talk.. -_- why
