  • Great!!! Siouxsie is the queen!

  • This is my new obsession...

  • Scary monster to a progger like me at the time .Now I appreciate how necessary this insurrection was to rock's survival .

  • Those were the days my friend, Madonna you bore

  • The Scream or The Clash or Never Mind the Bollocks, take your pick!!

  • Name me the best first album?

  • that song kicks ass! Siouxsie and the banshees were such an awesome group.

check out JJ and the razors on myspace wash your hands and you'll know's the name of the track and serrated steel jaws both tunes royally kick butt.

  • What a fantastic document of a cutting edge act in the early days of punk! Great upload!

  • she sang the verse sooner

  • It's the way she sings "Mah-ster scheme" - sexy, scary and surprisingly middle class for that scene / era.

  • @galaxie0762 they were from leafy Bromley, well-off area....

  • Imagine a Siouxsie/Marilyn Manson collabaration?

  • @lewisner i dont now if you have heard both songs, but to me, the start of 'here comes the day' off mantaray sounds like the beat from marilyn manson's 'i dont like the drugs but the drugs like me' from mechanical animals....

  • @snowball1988 I'll check them out.I'm sure Siouxsie must have been a huge influence on Marilyn.

  • and this is why she is the Queen! '77...........hells yes.

  • the drums sounds better in this live than in album version !

  • I love it when she goes wrong doesn't give a fuck.

  • wow, want to play that drums!!!! love punk, miss punk.

  • Wow, from 1977. It's almost as old as me!

  • nesse video ela ta parecendo o David Bowie

  • Ahhh, write in whats my name and go down to "the clash live whats my name" same place and so similar. Punk is awesome

  • The perfect punk tune

  • badass shit!

  • Love me some Siouxsie and The Banshees.

  • @LOLOfandoly haha what?! its not true

  • This perios will always remain my favorite. before and including Kaleidoscope .While Juju I think is their definitive album -obsessive long dark traks with no bright instrumentation all klangy, dark. And equally obsessive lyrics aboiut various mental sicknesses.

  • the tits t-shirt!!

  • i'm in there somewhere

you have to understand that nearly everyone there would never have heard any siouxsie and the banshees before as they hadnt had any records out. i remember being really impressed and my brother bought a bootleg of their deos soon after

  • Simply brilliant. I've got nothng to say, other than that. It's just brilliant.

  • Thats what I was going to say!

  • Music to kick some fucker's head in to. Brilliant!!

  • Love Siouxsie and the Banshees! I want her boob shirt

  • classic. always been a fan of siouxsie and the Banshees my fav song by siouxsie sou is Hong Kong Garden it is my ringtone. thankyou

  • well i agree with all of you

    siouxsie is a living goddess...

    she is just perfect...

no words can describe her... i love her

and i agree with the friend sludgepunk...with the "alien sex fiend" comment...

    that was a good one...

  • If only they would come out with Guitar Hero Siouxsie/Creatures! I would stand in line for it.

  • OMG! i think this sound make a massive attack...what a mistake.. but m.a. version is too good.

  • Just getting into them. Her voice is great. I love the drums...strong and urgent.

  • CLASSIC!!! LOVE! She's so amazing.

    luv,

    jessie

  • Is this from a compilation about punk broadcast on C4 in 1991? I remember seeing it and making a tape of it when I was 14.

  • fantaboulus! Siouxsie forever

  • I love siouxsie, but she messed up the first part lol, whateves she's amazing!

  • dammmit she's so spectacular.

  • 2.52 the ginger lad in second row,to yhe left of the one in a white hat , is mick hucknall of simply red , he was in the audience

  • I've heard this before as well, and it certainly looks like him. He's also meant to be in a "Magazine" live film clip. But apparently he denies it all as some sort of "urban myth". Or maybe he's embarrassed to have been there the stuck up twat ! If I'd been at this gig I'd be shouting it from the rooftops !!

  • I want a Siouxsie Sioux action figure. Marilyn Manson's got one, a Siouxsie Sioux action figure could kick its ass

  • @pressing3050

I want a Siouxsie Sioux doll, I have a Michael Jackson doll, and Marilyn Manson action figure.

  • 100 STARS

  • It is great.

    Thank you Zombified.

  • Mommy Wow! I'm a big kid now!

  • i would kill to be there

    love it

  • Remember vividly watching this in a Channel 4 punk rock compilation in Aug 1986! Fantastic! P.S I can't stand Victoria Beckham is there anything wrong with me?

  • @Ihatevbshit Nope, there's nothing wrong with you. Though I personally don't have much against the Spice Girls, I do feel frustrated whenever I hear Taylor Swift.....>_<

  • @Ihatevbshit no there is nothing wrong with you victoria beckham is uglyyyyyy so very very ugly I don't see why people see her as attractive

  • 1977 was a decade of rock unto itself. The U.S. and the Soviet Union should have vaporised everything while rock was perfect.

  • Why the hell aren't the crowd moving?

  • Tough crowd!

  • I'd say lol

  • We were all too cool for (art) school back then - crowds didn't go crazy in general - not that often anyway. And no 'rock horns and air-punching - thank god!!!

  • Initially, I thought Siouxsie was playing the drums!

  • I thought about that again on viewing this video... after 5 months!

  • My dad shared a flat with Budgie in Earls Court in 1977. Useless information that no-one will care about!

  • thats awesome ;-).

  • Lucky him!!

  • Wow! That's a wonderful piece of information.

  • m p c really good ................

  • Yea it was down the road from me I was 19 The Clash headlined it was for a TV called "so it goes" mad gig!

  • Notice only about 5-6 people in the crowd moving? The rest of us were scared shitless\gobsmacked\totally in love with her.

  • Were you there!!! ???

  • Um......wow, people, BOTH woman are VERY TALENTED.........Patti Smith was a regular at the CBGB, hmmm, think about that will ya. LOVE SIOUXSIE LOVE PATTI!

  • I was replying to MegaJaMs' comment about her sort of flubbing the lyrics...I hate it when the reply doesn't show up with the post you're replying to.

  • love the music, love her look... great song, the Banshees > all...

  • Siousie Sioux is Queen Punk

  • vraiment trop bon

  • No dissing Patti Smith and how the hell do you know that she doesn't bathe Jonnobaas huh?

Do you know her personally eh?

No, I didn't think so, so shut your trap!

    <3 You Siouxsie!

  • lol ppl get so affended if u dont share th sme opinion!!!!! i agree with jonnobass!

  • Siouxsie, unlike Patti Smith, is professional and believes in bathing daily. Oh, and she also has talent.

  • OMG... I was just thinking the same thing. Siouxsie bathes!!

I remember Patti Smith at Max's on those hot summer nights ... oh dear god help you if you got a whiff!

  • Shades of PJ Harvey here...

  • She actually fumbles the lyrics missing one chorus, but she does a gracefull save :-)

  • I thought that was cute.

  • Too good for punkrock. From the start.

  • I love everything about Siouxsie she is a huge inspiration to me.

  • this rocks

  • I love this!

    :)

siouxsie means a great deal to me

    and im only 15

    niiiice :D

  • yes she is awesome

  • youd love patti smith

  • Patti Smith?

  • ya patti smith godmother of punk.

theres lots here on youtube enjoy.

this pretty cool too. but ya all hail patti

  • dubbedcrazy, loving Siouxsie doesn't mean you'll automatically love Patti Smith.

  • fair enough! i think their both great.......

  • Me too!!

  • I liked Massive Attack's ripoff "Superpredators" was better. Metal Postcard has better lyrics though

  • im looking for a video back when sid was with them but i cant seem too find one

  • I've never seen a video of Sid with Sioxsie. I don't think it was ever filmed...he soon joined the Pistols anyway.

  • He only played with them ONCE - at their first ever gig at the 100 Club Punk Festival in 1976.

  • yes. that's correct.

  • Anyone notice the cigarette butt on the floor of the stage?

  • I don't think siouxsie is 50 yet...at least not until 2007

  • You're right. It should say "50-ish". Wikipedia gives May 27/'57 as her birthday...50 can be a particularly disconcerting birthday for people, worse than 40, which is sort of "comfortably middle aged". Because at 50, you KNOW your life is most likely way more than half over. Time-wise, you realize you're on the way out now! I hope Siouxsie survives 50 okay!"Mere slip" isn't quite right either, as she's 5'8"...but she sure was thin in '77.

  • She was a sexy young waif in '77, wasn't she? Though a mere slip of a girl. She's still a knockout at a no-longer-waifish 50. '77 was pre-Budgie. Severin was the lucky man to be Siouxsie's main squeeze of the time.

  • I can see why Budgie was able to steal Siouxsie from Severin.

  • I thin the first time i saw them was 79 or 80 they were great!

    HF

  • bless the young punks trying to pogo to early metal postacrd

  • this song is so good i named my label after it

  • Awesome! Beginning of Siouxsie!
