paintball is to expensive in the long term. I have a life, i can't spend hundreds and hundreds a year to run around inflatables/woods with a mutated hairdryer on crack. I would rather spend that money on other things, like actual weapons for the range, or travel, or anything that's productive. At least I can spend not even $150 and be prepared for years in airsoft, considering indoor CQB arenas. In paintball, you have to actually care for paintball to keep playing.

@bodomamarth depends what type of airsoft gun you get....some aegs (automatic electric gun) have a louder sound with the air coming out of the barrel so sometimes it overpowers the sound of the electric.....

Lasertag is the best, the system deactivates you when you are shot so you know that you are dead for 6 seconds and then you reactivate can't do this in airsoft and paintball plus you get speacial abilities and more gametypes.

Why is there a controversy between Paintball and Air-soft anyways? They're both great, and why should you hate one just because you play the other; it's not like its forced upon you to play it. Ive played both and stuck with airsoft. Paintball is nothing butt hot heads. Its arcade too. Airsoft caries a real milsim aspect. That and the range of what you can do with your loadout is alot better than a neon jersey and the same shaped gun as everyone else.

Both are sports, both are fun the main difference is simply the seriousity. And you couldn't use paintball for real training. I'm e.g. playing airsoft because i've been in the army and i want to keep the standard i had there, physically and mentally, paintball just wouldn't fit me.
@HESXENON The type of paintball your talking about is called speedball, which is very different from woodsball. In woodsball people wear camo, use scenario guns (which are more realistic), and use more strategy and tactics than speedball. As for length of games, scenario paintball games are just as long as airsoft games. And as for training, The military uses simunition which is pretty much a paintball/airsoft hybrid since theres no hopper on the gun but paint still marks the target.
I personally like airsoft better for a couple reasons. First, it is much more realistic than paintball. Secondly, the gins look a lot better. Then, the feet per second reaches up to 500 in some high end automatic guns. But the best part is AIRSOFT GUNS CAN USE 6MM PAINTBALLS. Paintball would hurt with gargantuan airsoft bbs lol.

Lasertag is the best, the system deactivates you when you are shot so you know that you are dead for 6 seconds and then you reactivate can't do this in airsoft and paintball plus you get speacial abilities and more gametypes.

1. For under 200$, you can get a full metal airsoft gun that shoots 150+ feet at 750 rpm.
2. Paintball guns shoot 200-300 fps, airsoft guns shoot 350-550 fps, paintballs explode upon impact, like getting hit with a water baloon, getting hit by an airsoft bb is like getting hit by a rock. Airsoft hurts more, it's just that you pussies complain too much so now everyone thinks the opposite.

Why is there a controversy between Paintball and Air-soft anyways? They're both great, and why should you hate one just because you play the other; it's not like its forced upon you to play it. And neither one is better than the other, their equal; they both have their pros and cons. I play both, enjoy both, and see no reason the two sports can't co-exist.

Ive played both and stuck with airsoft. Paintball is nothing butt hot heads. Its arcade too. Airsoft caries a real milsim aspect. That and the range of what you can do with your loadout is alot better than a neon jersey and the same shaped gun as everyone else.

I'd say airsoft is for the longer games where you need camouflage and preparation, and paintball is "Hey let's just have some fun while doing sports, let's play paintball"
Both are sports, both are fun the main difference is simply the seriousity. And you couldn't use paintball for real training. I'm e.g. playing airsoft because i've been in the army and i want to keep the standard i had there, physically and mentally, paintball just wouldn't fit me.

@HESXENON The type of paintball your talking about is called speedball, which is very different from woodsball. In woodsball people wear camo, use scenario guns (which are more realistic), and use more strategy and tactics than speedball. As for length of games, scenario paintball games are just as long as airsoft games. And as for training, The military uses simunition which is pretty much a paintball/airsoft hybrid since theres no hopper on the gun but paint still marks the target.

I personally like airsoft better for a couple reasons. First, it is much more realistic than paintball. Secondly, the gins look a lot better. Then, the feet per second reaches up to 500 in some high end automatic guns. But the best part is AIRSOFT GUNS CAN USE 6MM PAINTBALLS. Paintball would hurt with gargantuan airsoft bbs lol.

With either side its all about the player. Someone that plays woodsball or scenerio paintball can do just as well in an airsoft game and the other way around. Its the same type of game just a different size projectile, as for the whole honor of airsoft that up to the people playing there are cheaters in all sport.

1.A plastic BB will leave the barrel and slow down QUICK a paintball has more mass so it will go farther.
2. Airsoft doesn't hurt that much, with paintball it will hurt like HECK! Paintball will give you a RUSH!
3. Both are realistic, but Paintball has realistic stuff! Look at a X7 Phenom Customized. That looks realistic, and they have a U.S. Army paintball line which I think is made by Tippman.

I prefer Airsoft (GBBR) cause it's more realistic and it's closest thing to the real deal...Paintball is messy... I would not appreciate getting shot with paint on my gears ... especially on My 1300$ fully equipped Eagle Industries Ciras Land ..but getting in the water or rolling in mud ...no worries about that...This is, my OPINION...
