i,m 60 now and this still makes the hairs on my stand funking absolutly fucking brilliant music like this made me wot i am today lol fucked and misunderstood
@TheNoob765 No shit? Most of the 587 people have no idea what music thier favorite pop stars listen to. Ideas dont come from anything recently maybe sounds very rare
@olshitty This band was really skilled at crafting a composition..They do a classical round in the song Love and Miracles out of nowhere..Peace and taker easy.
i remember buying this album... having it just bled into my soul... and never appreciating it back then like I should have.... although little did I know... it kept me from buying worthless crap like the JonAss brothers or J-Low or any of that dogmeat of today.
Now, I can hear any five seconds of Leftoverture and find myself wanting to play the album in entirety.
This song was played in the movie 'Heros' 1977...not a Great Movie...but it was about a Viet Nam VET who went crazy from War expierences....this song really hit home...I think if you've been to War...."Once I rose above the noise and Confusion"..."just to get a glimps beyond the solution"...I was soaring ever higher, But I flew too high".....
@judiann222 never thought about it that way. I like M.I.A. by avenged sevenfold a newer band but I suggest you take a listen to the song and the subject matter. Pretty awesome. Welcome home.
I saw them at the Fox in Atl around this time, I think. A few years later, I ran into Steve at a HS basketball game in Peachtree City. We talked for a few minutes... he was very nice.
I was a fan then, and I'm one still. Rock on, guys.
my dad introduced me to kansas when i was about 8 but i don't mind that its on supernatural etc. at least they do it justice and don't techno the shit out of it. its old school how its supposed to be played. (plus i'm pretty sure its also on happy gilmore too)
Not enough time or focus was spent on kerry livgren by the media. He played lead guitar and keyboards on this song and was just a bad ass musician and imho the heart and soul of kansas.
By himself the lead singer is good, but not outstanding. Add all the harmonies on this and it blows you away! Is there any reason the music of the 70's is still considered the gold standard? This is great stuff!
Supernatural just brought this to the awareness of those who were too young to know better. (Along with many other great classic gems from the past!) I really feel this song, the lyrics themselves, and of course the music. May we each find our way to the the final verse in this song, that the journey may be treacherous, but it is well worth carrying on
I absolutely loathe, detest, hate, abhor, repudiate and find completely sad and repugnant all things "classic" rock. That being said...I f***ing love this song.
@MakatangLiban Quit acting like you're so fucking special. What's wrong with promoting this song with shows and other places. I think its better that more people know this song through anything than not knowing this song at all.
@MakatangLiban I got it from South Park and Supernatural if it wasnt for them there was no chance in hell id have bought the Extended versions album and a couple of the early albums, Thank god for tv shows tha actually use GREAT music instead of this autotuned SHIT.
