The guy who sang Headless Cross is Tony Martin band's second longest serving vocalist after Ozzy Osbourne. Ian Gillan was also a singer of Sabbath for a brief period.
i wish i knew them all. i'd go to each of their fucking funerals personally and talk and laugh the whole way through. given them a taste of their own fucking medicine..
When you talk about talking, you should have been on the Glenn Hughes show I attended a couple of years ago. Everybody, except me and the front row, were talking and drinking. And then I mean *everybody*. You hardly heard the slower songs, like This Time Around. Hughes was really pissed off, and didn't deliver all his usual encores. I was very embarassed on behalf of the crowd.
The more I hear Hughes versions of these songs, the more excited I get about the idea of him leading the band next. He has the type of voice that you either find totally annoying, or completely love. But when you get into it, it's insanely good. He is very talented, and has many different qualities. He's not a perfect match on the Dio songs, but that's because we're used to hear Dio's voice, and I bet he would kill on the Ozzy, Gillan and Tony Martin songs. Hughes is also a great songwriter!
@tjcobra666 I agree with you, Glenn Hughes is awesome! I'd like to see him as a permanent member of Heaven and hell (BLACK SABBATH!) but I'm afraid that's not gonna happen. Or maybe if they change name to "Seventh Star" ;) At least I would buy a concert ticket for sure!
@tjcobra666 there was also the unrelased 8th star stuff.. and the piano version of "Video Killed the Radio Star"... check out the bootleg Sessions Man!
Oh God, the audience is a buntch of crap! Pretty sure that they have listen ZZ Top one time or two on the radio or in a spot on TV. Cero respect for Ronnie's farewell. This assholes makes me sick.
Very nice job, Glenn. I would prefer Jorn on this song, but Glenn is OK.
One thing I just realized is the fact that if they hire Hughes for their next project, they could play Born Again tracks again. 'Cause this guy can scream his lunges out! It would be so cool to hear Born Again, Trashed and Disturbing The Priest live! They could also do Tony Martin tracks, Dio tracks, Seventh Star tracks and Ozzy tracks. I bet it would have been an amazing set-list!!
This deserved a dedicated show, not just a festival apperance. They arn't even headlining and most people there arn't sabbath fans, the crowd is aweful.
The band just look depressed (and rightfuly so) and can't enjoy themselves. I think it would be a better idea just to have a memorial show where other artists pay tribute.
But props to the band for doing this, it must have been difficult and I appreciate it, even if that crowd does not.
@metalmaniac2493 very bad crowd and it's a shame. and i agree: Dio deserved a dedicated show, not a messy, fast celebration before the ZZ top ( i respect the zz top but the set list is ridiculous)
Why do people go to shows and bla bla bla bla bla through the whole thing? Some people are trying to hear the BAND. People who can't shut the fuck up at shows during songs should get tazed. Seriously.
Thanks to whoever taped this, and drop dead to the disrespectful fuckwads who made it unlistenable.
@Paulie88 i made the video and meanwhile thought the same thing. i came from italy to see the show and some dumbass can't keep his mouth closed. annoying.
He does the song justice... The blabbering audince does not....
