I remember doing this project in 7th grade. The bridge that was able to take the heveyest weight was 34 lbs. which was nothing compared to this. I desined my bridge exactly like the Whitestone in NYC. I came in 4th place at 18.5lbs.
i made a bridge that was 30 grams and held 536 pounds but mine was shorter (12")

It would have held up past 124lbs if the middle and the sides were enforced a bit more.
