@4lifeAcannibal they are trying to get to a safe place and they keep getting on boats planes helicopters ect because the survivors in the game are "Asymmtomatic carriers" which means they carry the virus within them but dont get Effected by it but anyone they come across (unless they are fellow carriers or immune) will become zombies, and no only the east coast of the USA is infected (from what i understand)

@codycuh I think you didnt read The Sacrifice Comics. Bill, Francis, Louis and Zoey are Carriers. All the zombies got bitten. In the comics you see Zoey's mom get bitten and she turns to a zombie. Carriers means they are zombies but still human. They just have the zombie virus.

But carriers dont have to bite someone to infect them, that's why all the helicopter pilots you ride with turn except for the military chopper on The Parish which is "equipped for carriers". Also if you read the writing on the walls you see that they started killing carriers for that reason too.
